I took a chance on Kelly’s The Admiral’s Penniless Bride, which was enjoyable until I hit the book burning that was a key plot point in the story. The newlyweds find a huge collection of erotica in their new mansion, which had been a regular site of orgies held by its prior owner. I have to say, as someone who enjoys erotic romance and also abhors the idea of the Fahrenheit 451 approach, it was an odd feeling to find myself reading about a hero and heroine smiling proudly at their bonfire of books. I think I’ll pass on Carla Kelly from here on.

I HIGHLY recommend Robin LaFevers DARK TRIUMPH and if you haven’t read the first book, I definitely recommend GRAVE MERCY.  An order of Assassin Nuns, OH MY GOD.  But it’s a well-written, historically accurate, interesting and compelling storyline.  I bought GRAVE MERCY a while back when it was also recommended here but only recently got around to reading it. Once I did, I was so enamored that I went out and bought DARK TRIUMPH at full Kindle price and pre-ordered the third book MORTAL HEART, coming out in the fall.

    Awesome trilogy.
