Books on Sale: Romantic Suspense with Assassins, Special Forces, and a Dash of SciFi.

Book Blind Faith

Blind Faith by Rebecca Zanetti is $2.99 and it's the third book in her Sin Brothers series. It was released yesterday and it's already holding a 4.4-star average on GR. This romantic suspense features a second chance romance (Catnip anyone?) and readers loved the scifi element. Has anyone snagged this yet?

A betrayal he couldn't forget . . .

For Nate Dean, love is a four-letter word. As part of a secret black-ops military unit, he and his brothers were genetically engineered by the government to be ruthless soldiers with an expiration date. They were loyal only to one another . . . until Nate laid eyes on the woman who stole his heart and blew his world apart. Now, years later, his family is still paying the price for his mistake. But as time runs out, there's only one person who can save his family: the very woman Nate swore he'd never trust again.

A love she couldn't deny . . .

The moment Audrey Madison spies Nate across a crowded ballroom, she can barely breathe. He's just as undeniably sexy as she remembers, yet there's an edge to him now that's as irresistible as it is dangerous. When he asks for her help, Audrey can't refuse. But she has secrets of her own-secrets that, if Nate ever discovers them, may cost them both their lives.

Book Hard as You Can

Hard as You Can by Laura Kaye is the second book in the Hard Ink series and is priced at $2.50. Another 4-star rating on GR, this book features a tattooed Special Forces hero. Some readers thought the connection between the hero/heroine came a little too easily, while others loved the fact that the heroine didn't fall into the TSTL category.

Ever since hard-bodied, drop-dead-charming Shane McCallan strolled into the dance club where Crystal Dean works, he’s shown a knack for getting beneath her defenses. For her little sister’s sake, Crystal can’t get too close. Until her job and Shane’s mission intersect, and he reveals talents that go deeper than she could have guessed.

Shane would never turn his back on a friend in need, especially a former Special Forces teammate running a dangerous, off-the-books operation. Nor can he walk away from Crystal. The gorgeous waitress is hiding secrets she doesn't want him to uncover. Too bad. He’s exactly the man she needs to protect her sister, her life, and her heart. All he has to do is convince her that when something feels this good, you hold on as hard as you can—and never let go.

I really like the Sin Brothers series.  I had Blind Faith on preorder from Kobo, but the link for the book didn’t show up in my library.  They said the format wouldn’t work for me (odd, since I have a Sony reader), so they issued me a credit today.  I purchased it from BN this morning and can’t wait to get it on my reader.

After reading some of the reviews while making this post, I actually think I might pick up the series. It seems really interesting and has really positive reader feedback.

I have been thinking about buying Blind Faith and yes, second chances are catnip for me. For some reason lately, I have been reading more romantic suspense instead of my usual Regencies, so Dark Deceptions is calling my Kindle’s name, too.

@Lisa J That has been happening to me more and more with Kobo. I too have a Sony and about 3 months ago noticed every so often a book would look like it was available to me, but when I bought it wouldn’t have a epub button for me to download on to my reader. Kobo informed me that those books were ONLY available on Kobo devices.

I was a little annoyed because these books weren’t marked as being for Kobo only devices. How am I supposed to know if you do not make such things clear? It also feels a little to ‘Amazon’ in that it’s locking you in to a device. And I had deliberately stayed away from Amazon because I don’t like how limiting it is.

@Nicole Thanks for the information.  If that’s their new policy, I will definitely be buying less from them.  At least with Amazon, you can download and convert the file type with Calibre.  My choices for e-book sellers gets smaller all the time.

  6. Erin Burns says:

The Sin Brothers series as a whole is a bundle of catnip-like tropes. They’re more than worth their ridiculously low prices.
