Books on Sale: Last Call for The Windflower Rebate, Plus Lisa Kleypas and Lorraine Heath Historicals

Book The Windflower. A picture of a woman with dark hair with a flower in it about to kiss a topless scruffy wavy haired dude with massive nipples. It's really not a good cover.

The Sizzling Book Club Pick for May 2014 is The Windflower by Sharon and Tom Curtis and the 50% eBook Buck rebate at AllRomance expires on 15 May 2014! The after-rebate price is $3.50, which is pretty spiffy, I think.

We will be having a chat about this book at the end of the month, and yes, Sharon and Tom Curtis will be there. I'll post the date and time asap! In the meantime, grab your copy before the rebate goes away.

Every lady of breeding knows no one has a good time on a pirate ship. No one, that is, but the pirates. Yet there she was, Merry Wilding – kidnapped in error, taken from a ship bound from New York to England, spirited away in a barrel and swept aboard the infamous Black Joke….

There she was, trembling with pleasure in the arms of her achingly handsome, sensationally sensual, golden-haired captor – Devon.

From the storm-tossed Atlantic to the languid waters of the Gulf Stream, from a smuggler's den to a gilded mansion, Merry struggled to escape…to escape the prison of her own reckless passions, the bondage of sweet, bold desire.

Book Someone to Watch Over Me - Lisa Kleypas. Close up of flowers.

Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas is $3.99. This is book 1 of her Bow Street Runners series, and features a courtesan, amnesia, mistaken identity, and a hero who is rather grumpy. Some readers loved him, others found it difficult to forgive him his assumptions about the heroine.

Grant Morgan is one of London's most eligible and unattainable bachelors. He's also a powerful member of the Bow Street Runners, and when he's called to the waterfront late one night to investigate a drowning victim, Grant is stunned to recognize the face of Vivien Rose Duvall, a well-known woman of the night. He's even more startled when he realizes that she's alive.

With no one to care for her, Grant carries Vivien to his home and revives her, only to learn that she is suffering from amnesia.

Vivien hesitantly accepts her handsome rescuer's claim that she is his mistress, despite her misgivings about her true identity. Nevertheless, she can't deny the marks on her throat that prove her near-drowning in the Thames was not an accident, and now she must trust the man who claims her as his paramour, for her life is in danger.

As Grant searches for Vivien's attacker, the two find themselves falling in love, all the while struggling to stay one step ahead of the evil forces that will stop at nothing to see Vivien dead.

Book Again the Magic - Lisa Kleypas

Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas is $3.99 right now. This book is listed as book .5 of the Wallflowers series. Some readers adored the betrayal/redemption storyline, while others were frustrated at the heroine for keeping secrets for so long. The heroes, primary and secondary, in this book are wonderful.

She gave him her innocence…

Lady Aline Marsden was brought up for one reason: to make an advantageous marriage to a member of her own class. Instead, she willingly gave her innocence to John McKenna, a servant on her father's estate. Their passionate transgression was unforgivable—John was sent away, and Aline was left to live in the countryside…an exile from London society.

…and he took her love.

Now McKenna has made his fortune, and he has returned—more boldly handsome and more mesmerizing than before. His ruthless plan is to take revenge on the woman who shattered his dreams of love. But the magic between them burns as bright as ever.

And now he must decide whether to let vengeance take its toll…or risk everything for his first, and only, love.

BookPromise me forever - naked dude back with black leather pants and belt

Promise Me Forever by Lorraine Heath is $3.99 right now. This is historical romance (obviously) and features a Regency cowboy in London (naturally) and a lot of emotion (Heath's specialty).

Warning from other reviewers: do not read the epilogue. You've been warned.

On the outside, Lauren Fairfield appears the very picture of cool, contained nobility and blueblood British sophistication. Inside, however, she longs for Tom, the charming rogue she loved–and lost.

Now a sinfully handsome would-be gentleman has arrived in London–and Lauren nearly swoons when she realizes it is her Tom, grown to magnificent manhood. He has come to claim his lost title as Earl of Sachse . . .and to fulfill an oath once made by two young lovers beneath a long-ago moon, a scandalous promise no proper lady would dare honor.

Lauren could never love a staid and stifling lord, and Tom's future is the aristocracy. So she will teach him their ways before she exits his life forever. But the wildness she adored still lives in Tom's heart–and he will not rest until he proves to the proud, resisting beauty that “forever” is a promise that must be kept . . .

Definitely do not read the epilogue for Promise Me Forever!

I saw The Windflower at Target over the weekend and have decided I should get the Kindle version. Not sure my middle-aged eyes can handle hundreds of pages of tiny type. 🙂
