My Life as a White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland is the Audible Daily Deal at $2.95. This is an unabridged audiobook of more than eight hours (Road Trip!) performed by Allison McLemore. The audiobook has 4+ star averages for story and performance, while on GoodReads, the book has a 3.9 star average. Readers particularly liked the mix of zombies, folklore, and forensics, and the heroine, who narrates the story.

Pretzel Making at Home by Andrea Slonecker is $1.99 digitally right now. While this may not be a romance, I tend to think of carbs and salt as one of my favorite pairings, so it's plenty romantic, see? What's not to love? Unless you're not able to eat gluten, in which case this book probably wouldn't make you happy. Which is a bummer.

This book has a 4+ star average on GR, though it's a pretty recent book, so there aren't many reviews. The reviews on Amazon are also very happy, including one that made me smile:

I hesitated buying this book, because, well, I'm [G]erman and thought to myself, better get yourself a [G]erman book about traditional pretzel baking. But I was intrigued by what I read about this book, so I had to get it and see for myself.

The Betty Crocker Big Book of Weeknight Dinners cookbook is $2.99. I'm seriously tempted by this one, especially because most quick dinner recipes feature foods like pasta that I try not to eat. (My relationship with carbs is a forbidden love that I try to deny, despite deep and ache-filled longing….)
