It's the last day of March, but some of the best deals on ebooks are still going on. Here's a look at the most popular ebook sales from the past four weeks.
The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey is a boxed set of three novels, Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon. It's still on sale for $1.99. McCaffrey's Dragonriders is a much-loved science fiction/fantasy series and this omnibus has a 4+ star average on GR. When I posted this deal originally, many people responded with effusive praise and promises to gift copies to the relative or friend who introduced them to the series years ago. Isn't that cool?

Fool Me Twice by Meredith Duran is out, and it's still discounted at $1.99. This is book 2 in the Rules for the Reckless series. If you already bought it, you should read it – it has a 4.23-star average so far in GR, and I've seen more than a few historical fans talking about how delightfully awesome it is. And if you haven't bought it, what are you waiting for?

RECOMMENDED: The MacKade brothers series by Nora Roberts is $1.99 each- and this price expires this week! The Return of Rafe MacKade is the first book in the series, which follows four brothers in Antietam, Maryland. This book was originally published in 1995, and you can see shades of later Roberts books in the setting, the characters, and the hint of ghostly activity on the haunted battlefield. If you like small town contemporary in which the setting is a huge element in the story, you'll like these.

The Pride of Jared MacKade by Nora Roberts is $1.99. Jared is an attorney, and Savannah is a single mom who was kicked out of her home after becoming pregnant as a teenager. She's as fierce and ferocious as a Roberts heroine can be, though a few readers had issues with Jared's attitude about her past. This wasn't my favorite of the series, but I read them all because of the story that's resolved in book 3 (my favorite).

RECOMMENDED: The Heart of Devin MacKade by Nora Roberts is one of my favorites of hers, out of all 6,734,923×10 books she's published. Cassie, the heroine, is starting her life over after marrying young to a man who beat her. Her story begins in the prior books, and in this one, it's a year or so after her divorce, and she works for Rafe MacKade. Devin MacKade is the sherrif, and he's been in love with Cassie for years and years, though she has no idea. He's one of the strong, steadfast, determined but gentle heroes (catnip!) who doesn't want to approach Cassie in case it's too soon for her to consider another relationship. Like I said, this is one of my favorites.

The Fall of Shane MacKade is $1.99, and is the final book in the series. Note: there is a strong paranormal thread running through the books (which some readers liked and others were not wild about), and in this book, the paranormal elements play a major role in the story. Shane MacKade has a lot of changes and weird things to accept, including his huge attraction to Dr. Rebecca Knight, who is a shy and intelligent researcher doing field work on his land.
Shane MacKade loved women. But he hadn't met one yet who had him whistling the wedding march. Until Dr. Rebecca Knight. Problem was, the pretty lady was too busy hunting legends on the MacKade land to succumb to the MacKade charm.
Maybe it was time to pop the old question. 'Cause this was one woman Shane couldn't live without…
To Dr. Rebecca Knight, everything was explainable. Until she started having some very irrational thoughts about sexy Shane MacKade. She didn't know much about men, but she knew one thing for sure:

Having purchased (long ago as a pre-order) and read (this week) Duran’s “Fool me Twice,” I still had to go back to Amazon to make sure that the book being advertised was the one I just read. Fme2x was well written and a wonderful read, but the blurb just seems wrong. It’s far more nuanced and interesting than the publicity statement suggests. The book certainly deserves its 4.23 rating on Goodreads, though, in my opinion, the book as advertised would be hard pressed to get close to a 3.5 even if written by Duran.
