Book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is $2.99 right now. This is a contemporary YA that inspired a movie series by the same name, about four girls who share a pair of perfect-fitting jeans.

FOUR VERY DIFFERENT FRIENDS. ONE PAIR OF MAGICAL PANTS. AND A SUMMER APART …

We, the Sisterhood, hereby instate the following rules to govern the use of the Traveling Pants:

1. You must never wash the Pants.

2. You must never double-cuff the Pants. It's tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.

3. You must never say the word “phat” while wearing the Pants. You must also never think “I am fat” while wearing the Pants.

4. You must never let a boy take off the Pants (although you may take them off yourself in his presence).

5. You must not pick your nose while wearing the Pants. You may, however, scratch casually your nostril while really kind of picking.

6. Upon our reunion, you must follow the proper procedures for documenting your time in the Pants.

7. You must write to your Sisters throughout the summer, no matter how much fun you are having without them.

8. You must pass the Pants along to your Sister according to the specifications set down by the Sisterhood. Failures to comply will result in a sever spanking upon our reunion.

9. You must not wear the Pants with a tucked-in shirt and belt. See rule #2.

10. Remember: Pants = love. Love your pals. Love yourself.

She moves from the bright lights of Las Vegas to the wilderness of Gospel, Idaho for some small-town fun. But when her first attempted seduction of a hunky stranger is completely rejected, she wonders what else could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters she quickly realizes that the Mountain Mama Crafters Original Poetry reading is about as good as it gets on a Friday night. Then she comes face to face with Rob Sutter, former ice hockey madman, owner of Sutter's Sports—and the hunky stranger who told her to get lost!

Rob's been more than burned by love—but then he and Kate find themselves in an ultra-compromising position in the M & S Market after-hours, giving the phrase “clean-up in aisle five” a whole new meaning, and cause a whole lot of gossip in Gospel…

Book Autumn in the Vineyard - a close up of two people about to kiss

Autumn in the Vineyard by Marina Adair is $1.99 as a Kindle Daily Deal today at Amazon. This is book 3 in Adair's St. Helena Vineyard series, and many readers really, really liked the hero, who is a smooth talking Italian dude.

Frankie Baudouin has a hundred reasons not to trust Nate DeLuca. First, he’s a DeLuca. Second, he kissed her—in front of the entire town—and then never called. Oh, and he’s after her land. Sorrento Ranch is Frankie’s last chance to prove to her family—and to herself—that she has what it takes to be an award-winning winemaker. And she will stop at nothing to ensure her success—even if it means playing nice with the starched, sophisticated, and oh-so-sexy Italian.

For Nate, Sorrento Ranch is more than just soil and grape vines; it was his father’s dream—a dream Nate is determined to make a reality.

So when he finds himself forced to cohabitate with a hot-headed, irrational, and incredibly gorgeous Baudouin, Nate is surprised to discover that chaos could be so much fun—especially when she sleeps in nothing but lace.

Ooh, ooh, I found another bargain! “In Sunlight and in Shadow” by Mark Helprin is on sale at Amazon for $2.24. I’m not sure if that deal is available anywhere else. It’s not categorized as romance, but it definitely centers around a love story, set in post WW II New York. I haven’t read it yet, but Helprin’s “Winter’s Tale” was one of the most gorgeously written books I’ve ever read.

I wish I had never read Rachel Gibson’s books. Why? Because then I could be enjoying reading them now for the first time. I’ve got every one of her books and read them twice. Sigh.

    DonnaMarie says:

I have Marcel Desaulniers’ Death by Chocolate books and they are awesome. I see another chocolate cookbook in my future.

And Kathleen, I absolutely agree with you. The rereads are happy times, but there’s nothing like experiencing her for the first time.
