BookVampire Academy book 1

The entire Vampire Academy series is $2.99 each digitally today to celebrate the premiere of the movie version of book 1. If you know a Vampire Academy fan who would love ebook copies, or you know someone who likes vampire series, this would be a terrific gift.

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess.

They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . . Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals.

But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Book Shadow Kiss

Shadow Kiss is $2.99. True story – yesterday I heard an ad for the movie on the radio, and was half listening to the plot summary in the ad. I tuned in just to the point when they said something about bodyguards, and thought, “Aw, man, that sounds like a ripoff of Vampire Academy.” Next line – come see Vampire Academy, based on the bestselling books by Richelle Mead. Oh! OK!

Is Rose's fate to kill the person she loves most?

It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since Mason's death, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She has dark flashbacks in the middle of practice, can't concentrate in class, and has terrifying dreams about Lissa. But Rose has an even bigger secret ….

She's in love with Dimitri. And this time, it's way more than a crush.

Then Strigoi target the academy in the deadliest attack in Moroi history, and Dimitri is taken. Rose must protect Lissa at all costs, but keeping her best friend safe could mean losing Dimitri forever…

Book Blood Promise

Blood Promise is $2.99 – and is book 4. Unfortunately, the plot summaries kind of give clues as to the progress of the series. Sorry about that.

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago.

But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

Book Spirit Bound

Spirit Bound is book 5, and is $2.99. ~$12 the whole series is pretty awesome, too.

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri's birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir's – and to her best friend, Lissa.

It is at long last graduation, and the girls can't wait for their real lives beyond the Academy's iron gates to begin. But Rose's heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and now he is hunting her. And this time he won't rest until Rose joins him . . . forever.

Book Last Sacrifice

Last Sacrifice sounds like it would be the last book in the series, and it is! It's $2.99

The astonishing conclusion to the #1 international bestselling series…

Murder. Love. Jealousy. And the ultimate sacrifice.

The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same.

Now, with Rose awaiting wrongful execution and Lissa in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and to question those they thought they could trust. . . .

Each other.

Book True Spies by Shana Galen

If you're not feeling like vampires, Shana Galen's True Spies is on sale today for $1.99. This is the second book in Galen's Lord and Lady Spies series, which is espionage + the Regency + banter. I read the first one in the series, and thought the emotional development between the characters was excellent, but the spy/espionage mystery plot was obvious.

He's Getting Tired of Deception…

Baron Winslow Keating is honor-bound to finish one last mission as an elite spy for the Barbican group even though he just wants to go home and be with his family. But after years of secrecy and absence, his daughters hardly know him and his wife has given up on him…

She Wants to Try a Little Intrigue…

Lady Elinor has had enough of domestic boredom. She contemplates an affair with a rakish spy, only to discover a world of intrigue and treachery that she never knew existed.

Even more shocking, her neglectful husband is suddenly very attentive—quite the jealous type—and apparently there is much more to him than she ever knew…

Book Poison Princess - Kresley Cole

Poison Princess by Kresley Cole is a YA dystopian romance (you can tell because the model on the cover is totally going to The Dystopian Prom). It's $1.99 today only at Amazon.

Some readers adored the layers of the world and the manner in which each character has a responsibility to fulfill, but others found it difficult to get into with a slow beginning. That said, it has a 4+ star average at AMZ and GR.

She could save the world—or destroy it.

Sixteen-year-old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they're still happening.

Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

But she can't do either alone.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it's not always clear who is on which side.

  1. Amanda says:

I’ve been meaning to give Vampire Academy another chance, especially since the movie looks surprisingly hilarious.

It’s like Amazon read my mind and I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they had the technology to do so.

  2. Ken Houghton says:

I freely admit being far too old to hang out at high schools, but I do attend swim meets and have a tween daughter.

The model on the cover of Poison Princess looks more like someone about to go to her 10th or 15th High School reunion than a Prom.

  3. So many good Kindle deals today! I already own the Vampire Academy books or I definitely would have snatched them up. I saw the movie tonight and I loved it!
