Books on Sale: The Rosie Project, Unintentional Peen, and Paranormal Romance

Book The Rosie Project

RECOMMENDED: The Rosie Project is $1.99 at Amazon, and I'm crossing my fingers for price matching today. PLEASE PRICE MATCHING GODDESSES?! (ETA: Thank you, Price Matching Goddesses! BN has matched the price!)

I adored this book, and in my A review I talked about how it made me laugh and sigh and was just so completely enjoyable. I have recommended this book to so many people, all of whom loved it. I hope, if you're curious, you'll grab a copy at the $2 price!

MEET DON TILLMAN, a brilliant yet socially challenged professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. And so, in the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.

Rosie Jarman is all these things. She also is strangely beguiling, fiery, and intelligent. And while Don quickly disqualifies her as a candidate for the Wife Project, as a DNA expert Don is particularly suited to help Rosie on her own quest: identifying her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on the Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie—and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.

Arrestingly endearing and entirely unconventional, Graeme Simsion’s distinctive debut will resonate with anyone who has ever tenaciously gone after life or love in the face of great challenges. The Rosie Project is a rare find: a book that restores our optimism in the power of human connection.

Deep Kiss of Winter - the light is reflecting off the surface of one of his vertical muscles and it tooootally looks like a peen.

There are two main reasons why you should buy this. No, three. First, it's a duology of Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter, and if you like paranormal romance, you'll probably like one or both of their stories. Two, it's a KDD today at $1.99.

Three: ONE OF THE MOST MAJESTIC UNINTENTIONAL PEEN COVERS CAN BE YOURS. Your very own unintentional peen! LOOK AT IT. (Or don't, because once you see it, it cannot be unseen.)

Murdoch Wroth will stop at nothing to claim Daniela the Ice Maiden — the delicate Valkyrie who makes his heart beat for the first time in three hundred years. Yet the exquisite Danii is part ice fey, and her freezing skin can't be touched by anyone but her own kind without inflicting pain beyond measure. Soon desperate for closeness, in an agony of frustration, Murdoch and Danii will do anything to have each other. Together, can they find the key that will finally allow them to slake the overwhelming desire burning between them?

Aleaha Love can be anyone — literally. With only skin-to-skin contact, she can change her appearance, assume any identity. Her newest identity switch has made her an AIR (alien investigation and removal) agent and sends her on a mission to capture a group of otherworldly warriors. Only she becomes the captured. Breean, a golden-skinned commander known for his iron will who is at once dangerous and soul-shatteringly seductive, threatens her new life. Because for the first time, Aleaha only wants to be herself….

Gentlemen Prefer Succubi - alas, no accidental peen on the cover.

Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is $1.99 at all vendors. Myles writes comedic paranormal romance, which isn't everyone's cup of reading tea, but those who love her humor love her style. Regardless, it's unique and can be charming.

Jackie Brighton woke up in a Dumpster this morning, and her day has only gotten weirder. Her familiar B-cups have somehow become double Ds, her sex drive is insatiable, and apparently she had her first one-night stand ever…with a fallen angel. All she remembers is gorgeous Noah's oddly hypnotic blue eyes…and then a dark stranger whose bite transformed her into an immortal siren with a sexy Itch.

With help from Noah, Jackie begins to adapt to her new lifestyle — until she accidentally sends Noah into the deadly clutches of the vampire queen and lands herself in a fierce battle for an ancient halo with the queen's wickedly hot righthand man. Who just happens to be the vampire who originally bit her. How's a girl supposed to save the world when the enemy's so hard to resist?

Alpha Instinct - a woman in leather vest and pants looking at the reader, because leather is always practical when you're a paranormal heroine.

Alpha Instinct is $1.99 at Amazon and BN right now. This is the first book in Reus' “Moon Shifter” series (oh, dear, that's a… name for a series featuring alpha heroines, isn't it?) about a female pack alpha (see what I mean there?) who is trying to lead her pack – and must find a mate to help her. Some readers disliked that she needed a man to fix everything, while others loved the focus on the heroine, and the mix of paranormal, urban fantasy, pack politics and romance.

Ana Cordona has been a strong leader for the few remaining lupine shifters in her pack. But with no pack males, they're vulnerable to the devious shifter Taggart, who wants to claim both their ranch and Ana as his own. When Connor Armstrong comes back into her life, promising protection as the Alpha male, it's almost enough to make Ana forget how he walked out on her before.

But Taggart and his rival pack are not their only enemies. A human element in town is targeting shifters. Their plan not only threatens Ana and Connor's future-but the existence of the entire pack.

  1. Miranda says:

Brandon Sanderson’s Steelheart is also on sale for 1.99 at Amazon. This is supposed to be a really good YA.

  2. Lyn says:

Steelheart is matched as well on BN.

  3. Lindsay says:

Steelheart is excellent YA, and a great example of Sanderson’s stuff, if a bit simplified compared to his usual voice. The worldbuilding’s there in full swing, and if people like Steelheart they’ll probably like Mistborn (and from there, the rest!). I’m really looking forward to the sequel.

  4. Miranda says:

I enjoyed Sanderson’s story in the Dangerous Women anthology. I’m looking forward to the book.
