Books on Sale in Dollars and Pounds: Tessa Dare, Sarah Morgan, and Lisa Renee Jones

Book Sleigh Bells in the Snow

If you're a shopper at Amazon.co.uk, Sarah Morgan's new single title, Sleigh Bells in the Snow is £1.00. Yay! That includes VAT and all those other pesky things. Nice! This book was the Sizzling Book Club Pick in November, and it's a contemporary romance set in Vermont during the holidays. I thought it was adorable and lovely, and I hope you'll give it a try. NB: If you notice the price discounted at other UK vendors as well, would you let me know? Thanks!

Once upon a time, Christmas was Kayla Green's favorite time of year. Now all the workaholic wants for Christmas is for it to be over—as fast as possible! So when duty calls her to snowy Vermont to close a deal with a new client, Kayla is grateful for an excuse to avoid the holidays for another year.

Jackson O'Neil left a thriving business behind to return home and salvage his family's resort—it's in his blood, and he can't let it fail. Now that he's got marketing whiz Kayla Green working with him to put Snow Crystal on the map, success is on the horizon. The fact they strike enough sparks off each other to power all the Christmas lights in Vermont is just an added bonus.

Kayla might be an expert at her job, but she's out of her depth with Jackson—he makes her crave the happy-ever-after she once dreamed of, and it's terrifying. As the snowflakes continue to swirl, will the woman who doesn't believe in the magic of Christmas finally fall under its spell?

Book Any Duchess Will Do Any Duchess Will Do is a Kindle Daily Deal today at $1.99. Nice! This is the fourth book in the Spindle Cove series, and several others in that series are on sale, too (see below). If you're trying to find a gift for someone, and you know they like comedy and historicals, the Spindle books on sale plus tea and chocolate would be a lovely present. I'd like it, anyway, and I've read them all! Plus, this book has appeared on four different best-of 2013 lists, including iTunes, Amazon, and Library Journal.

Griffin York, the Duke of Halford, has no desire to wed this season–or any season–but his diabolical mother abducts him to “Spinster Cove” and insists he select a bride from the ladies in residence. Griff decides to teach her a lesson that will end the marriage debate forever. He chooses the serving girl.

Overworked and struggling, Pauline Simms doesn't dream about dukes. All she wants is to hang up her barmaid apron and open a bookshop. That dream becomes a possibility when an arrogant, sinfully attractive duke offers her a small fortune for a week's employment. Her duties are simple: submit to his mother's “duchess training”… and fail miserably.

But in London, Pauline isn't a miserable failure. She's a brave, quick-witted, beguiling failure–a woman who ignites Griff's desire and soothes the darkness in his soul. Keeping Pauline by his side won't be easy. Even if Society could accept a serving girl duchess–can a roguish duke convince a serving girl to trust him with her heart?

Book A Night to Surrender

A Night to Surrender is book 1 in Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove trilogy, and it's $2.99. As I've mentioned previously, I really liked the series, though this was my least favorite of the books. The setting is wonderful and the characters, especially the women, are fantastic. This book was nominated for a RITA so there are two RITA Reader Challenge reviews: HarperGray gave it a C+ and Kelly gave it an A-

Welcome to Spindle Cove, where the ladies with delicate constitutions come for the sea air, and men in their prime are… nowhere to be found. Or are they?

Spindle Cove is the destination of choice for certain types of well-bred young ladies: the painfully shy, young wives disenchanted with matrimony, and young girls too enchanted with the wrong men; it is a haven for those who live there. Victor Bramwell, the new Earl of Rycliff, knows he doesn't belong here.

So far as he can tell, there's nothing in this place but spinsters… and sheep. But he has no choice, he has orders to gather a militia. It's a simple mission, made complicated by the spirited, exquisite Susanna Finch—a woman who is determined to save her personal utopia from the invasion of Bram's makeshift army.

Susanna has no use for aggravating men; Bram has sworn off interfering women. The scene is set for an epic battle… but who can be named the winner when both have so much to lose?

Book A Week to be Wicked

A Week to be Wicked features a heroine whose intellectual pursuits make her so unique she is lonely, and I loved her. I still think about this book, especially about the unsung women who discovered fossils first. It's book #2 in the series, it's a road trip romance, and it's $1.99.

Minerva Highwood, one of Spindle Cove's confirmed spinsters, needs to be in Scotland. Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, a rake of the first order, needs to be…anywhere but Spindle Cove.

These unlikely partners have one week to
• fake an elopement
• convince family and friends they're in “love”
• outrun armed robbers
• survive their worst nightmares
• travel four hundred miles without killing each other

All while sharing a very small carriage by day and an even smaller bed by night. What they don't have time for is their growing attraction. Much less wild passion. And heaven forbid they spend precious hours baring their hearts and souls. Suddenly one week seems like exactly enough time to find a world of trouble. And maybe…just maybe…love.

Book If I Were You

If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones is $1.99. This book, and the series, were recently optioned for a series on Starz, and Jones was interviewed on our most recent podcast, so if listening made you curious, that's a terrific price to satisfy your curiosity!

When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she's shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer–until the terrifying final entry. Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca's life.

Soon she's working at the art gallery Rebecca worked at and meeting Rebecca's friends. Finding herself drawn to two dangerously sexy men, the manager of the gallery and a famed artist, Sara realizes she's going down the same path Rebecca took.

But with the promise of her dark needs being met by a man with confident good looks and a desire for control, she's not sure anything else matters. Just the burn for more.

Does anyone know if “If I were you” is a cliffhanger? I would be interested in the book but I super hate cliffhangers.
