Lorraine Heath was the subject of a guest post love letter from Jessie Edwards earlier this year, and is cited by many as an unsung master of historical romance. This novella is part of her Lost Lords of Pembroke series, beginning with She Tempts the Duke. The novella is #2.5, and the hero appears in book 2, Lord of Temptation, but judging from the reviews, this can be read as a standalone.
