Books on Sale: Holiday and Historical Romances

Book Let Love Find You

Let Love Find You by Johanna Lindsey is $1.99 (and One Heart to Win is still $2.99 if you prefer Western historicals). Let Love Find You was published in June 2012, and is the fourth book in the Reid series. In this book, the hero is the society matchmaker (neat!) and the heroine is in her third season, with her sights set on some other dude. That always works out the way she plans, right?

London society has its very own Cupid. Renowned horse breeder and occasional matchmaker Devin Baldwin pairs eligible young ladies with suitable gentlemen based on his theory of animal magnetism. Unafraid of ruffling the ton’s feathers, this darkly handsome Cupid doles out tips for bettering one’s chances of meeting a mate that are as pointed as the love legend’s sharpest arrows!

Lovely Amanda Locke, the daughter of a duke, is everything a nobleman could desire, yet she enters her third Season still searching for a match. Gossipmongers’ tongues are wagging, and her mystified family is considering drastic measures to find her a husband. But the insufferable advice of this Cupid fellow is the last thing Amanda wants.

When an earl passionate about horses becomes the target of her husband hunt, Amanda knows it’s time to overcome her fear of riding. With her sister-in-law Ophelia hastening the romance along by arranging riding lessons, Amanda is soon taking instruction from infuriating Devin Baldwin. Astonishingly, in her daily encounters with Devin—who treats her as an ordinary young woman, not a prize to be won at the marriage mart—Amanda experiences passion for the first time. Now, her search for a match takes her in an unexpected direction as she finds herself falling in love with Cupid himself.

Book Deck the Halls with Love - Novella

Deck the Halls with Love: A Lost Lords of Pembrook Novella by Lorraine Heath is $1.99 right now. Lorraine Heath was the subject of a guest post love letter from Jessie Edwards earlier this year, and is cited by many as an unsung master of historical romance. This novella is part of her Lost Lords of Pembroke series, beginning with She Tempts the Duke. The novella is #2.5, and the hero appears in book 2, Lord of Temptation, but judging from the reviews, this can be read as a standalone.

Christmas is a time for miracles … and second chances at love.

In her dazzling first Season, Lady Meredith Hargreaves gave her heart to Alistair Wakefield, the Marquess of Chetwyn, only to have it shattered when he proposed to another. And now that he's free to pursue her? It matters little, because she's on her way to the altar, heartbreak be damned.

Chetwyn once set aside his dreams in favor of duty and honor. But as Christmas approaches, he is determined to put his own desires first and lure Lady Meredith back into his arms, where she's always belonged.

First he steals a dance; then he steals a kiss. But when they find themselves alone in an abandoned castle during a snowstorm, reignited passion consumes them both. And Chetwyn will have one last chance to steal back Meredith's heart, once and for all.

A Visit from Sir Nicholas, #9 in Victoria Alexander's Effingtons series, is $1.99 right now.

Everyone knows that an Effington always gets her way … but this time it's not going to be easy!

He rebuffed her and set out to seek his fortunes, while Elizabeth was left a woman scorned. Now, she discovers in horror that the inheritance she's managed beautifully was never hers to control. No, power over her finances lay in the hands of the last man she ever wants to see again: Nicholas!

But running Elizabeth's life isn't part of Nick's plans. He's intrigued when he discovers that the frivolous and flighty girl he once knew has turned into a beautiful and capable woman. Nick vows to woo — and win — her, and while she seems unmoved by his fervent seduction, he swears he will not rest until she accepts that most precious gift of all — the gift of love.

Book No Good Duke Goes Unpunished

This is a sort-of sale: No Good Duke Goes Unpunished is $4.79 at Amazon right now, which is 40% off. This book came out last Tuesday, so it's brand spanky new. This is the third book in Sarah MacLean's Rules of Scoundrels series, which we talked about at length in the most recent podcast (caution: spoilers for series therein).

A rogue ruined . . .

He is the Killer Duke, accused of murdering Mara Lowe on the eve of her wedding. With no memory of that fateful night, Temple has reigned over the darkest of London’s corners for twelve years, wealthy and powerful, but beyond redemption. Until one night, Mara resurfaces, offering the one thing he’s dreamed of . . . absolution.

A lady returned . . .

Mara planned never to return to the world from which she’d run, but when her brother falls deep into debt at Temple’s exclusive casino, she has no choice but to offer Temple a trade that ends in her returning to society and proving to the world what only she knows…that he is no killer.

A scandal revealed . . .

It’s a fine trade, until Temple realizes that the lady—and her past—are more than they seem. It will take every bit of his strength to resist the pull of this mysterious, maddening woman who seems willing to risk everything for honor . . . and to keep from putting himself on the line for love.

The bestest thing you have ev-ah done for me, Sarah, was lead me to Audible and the Audible daily deal, which allows me to download audiobooks straight to my smartphone, thereby making my library audiobooks on CD that I had to download onto my laptop and then transfer onto my iTouch a time-sucking thing of the past.

Of course, it’s not helping my credit card, but that’s another matter.

@Jill-Marie: I do this, too! I have a ton of audiobooks that I listen to while I walk the dogs. Right now I’m listening to Brene Brown’s book on vulnerability and leadership. (It’s hell on my credit card, too!) I’m so glad it’s working for you, though.
