Help Me Test the PunchTab, Win an Amazon GC!

Stack of books in a shopping cartI'm trying out some contest software options for the upcoming Thanksgivukkah Extravaganzukkah, wherein I lose my mind and give away prizes each day for the eight nights of Hanukkah. Only this year, because Thanksgiving (US version, now with more turkey) overlaps with Hanukkah, it's extra bonkers. At least, it feels that way because JEEZ IS IT EARLY.

I've been researching a few different options since some of the visually impaired folks in the Bitchery told me they were having trouble with Rafflecopter, and I received some email from other folks who weren't getting along with the 'copter, too. So, today, I test PunchTab

If you'd be so kind as to test out the Punchtab below and let me know if it sucks eggs or rocks hard, or if you're completely indifferent, I'd much appreciate it. If you enter below, you're eligible to win a $25 Amazon giftcard. Winner will be chosen Sunday 24 November 2013, in the evening. Contest ends 5pm ET 24 November 2013.

Standard disclaimers apply: I'm not being compensated for this giveaway except that I get to play with a bunch of different contest widgets that want me to incentivize and leverage people which gives me the jibblies and is not really compensation so much as it is creeping me out. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Must be over age 18 and feeling punchy. Rabbids Invation is one of the creepiest shows I've seen yet, and I've watched a lot of Dora in my lifetime. Warm socks recommended. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear. Do not remove tag under penalty of law (WHAT LAW? Why do they never say WHICH LAW IT IS? Close cover before striking.

If you decide to enter, thank you muchly. I want to make the giveaways for Thanksgivukkah as easy as possible and accessible to everyone, and your help is very much appreciated.

ETA: DAMMIT. I specifically turned off FB and TW, but the share-and-get-entries thing is apparently an unchangable default. GRRRRRRR. My apologies for that – please ignore it!

  1. Gry says:

Seemed to work fine for me, but then I’m not vision impaired. Except – if I was supposed to add my comment WHILE using the widget, that function either did not work or was very UN-evident.

  2. SB Sarah says:

No, the comments down there and the widget up there are separate things. Thank you!

  3. Sonya says:

It gave me a second entry when I replied to the question,,,

  4. Limecello says:

I like it 😀 and I think it looks nicer than rafflecopter.

  5. Karalee says:

I LOVED that I didn’t have to provide a FB or twitter link for an entry!!

  6. StarOpal says:

I didn’t seem to have any issues. I agree with lime it is more aesthetically pleasing

  7. Danielle H says:

I like it. Was pretty easy to use.

  8. Amy says:

    Worked fine for me

  9. Milly says:

Seemed to work ok.  Gave me 2 entries when I answered the question.  Didn’t use the share on FB button.  I don’t typically like to share that stuff on my FB ‘cuz I find it annoying when others do!

  10. April V. says:

I don’t mind the FB and Twitter thing – people can do it if they want and others can just ignore if they want.

I have no issues with the Punch Tab widget – visually, contextually or whateverly.

  11. Jessica says:

A little easier than the copter when using my phone

  12. Dolores says:

Much more user friendly,  especially on my phone.

  13. Darlynne says:

The “Your Entry” counter shows I have two and the “Congrats” message says I have earned one entry. Piece of cake.

  14. Lostshadows says:

I had a problem getting the entry to submit. (I went into more detail in reply to the question, so I won’t repeat here unless requested.)

Personally, I really don’t like that both this and the previous one ask for first and last names. I try to avoid using my real name online.

  15. Jennifer says:

    Seems to be working ok

  16. Heather S says:

No problems entering any info, and it loaded quickly. Looks like a winner to me! (Now I hope I’m a winner…) LOL

  17. Carmen Slaughter says:

    I had no problems!

  18. Kristal says:

Worked fine, gave me a second entry when I answered the question.  But if you can’t turn off facebook and twitter – that’s a problem.

  19. laj says:

    Easy peasy!

  20. nightsmusic says:

Seemed to work fine. I didn’t click the facebook thing because I hate facebook, but that’s me. However, looking at it, I’m not sure you need to hit the facebook thing, or do you? How do I know if I’m entered unless I hit the share link?

    theo

  21. Cath Scott says:

    Working fine for me!

  22. Jill-Marie says:

Well, I didn’t use the previous contest ‘copter (dunno why, just never entered) but I did try this one, ‘cause you asked so nicely. 🙂

It was sneaky easy, but much like Kristal, I’d much prefer if the FB and Twitter pass-alongs could be turned off. And the fact that that dialog box asking for the share just kinda … sits there … with no way to make it go away is a bit disconcerting. But I guess I can just ignore it and let it hang out by its lonesome.

  23. Works fine for me!

  24. Persnickety says:

Seemed to work, and I added my comment and then it told me there was an error?

  25. Tin says:

I tweeted and the extra points didn’t get entered.

This is very easy to use and I think it loads faster than Rafflecopter?

  26. Pam Craig says:

Works fine, thumbs up from me.

  27. KellyM says:

Seems to be working ok for me.  Though I agree with LostShadows in that I don’t love putting my last name out there.

  28. Anna says:

I got an entry for my name/e-mail, and one more for answering the question.  I didn’t share via facebook or twitter, but I did pass the “custom link” it gave me to a friend I was talking to via IM just to see where it’d lead her, and it brought her to the giveaway.  So basically, it was all very straightforward and easy to use.

I don’t mind having twitter/facebook shares as options at the end as long as they’re not mandatory.

  29. Holly says:

Worked fine – but since it asks for last names – you might want a disclaimer that you won’t share the information or its secure.

  30. Pat L. says:

Don’t know what this is about, but it gave me 2 entires also.

  31. Lina says:

    Works for me!

  32. azteclady says:

I answered the question, still gave me only one entry.

Is the first name, last name requirement unchangeable? I don’t much like that.

  33. Plumsfan says:

It was pretty easy. I also do not want to have to use the facebook and twitter shares.

  34. Brianna says:

It was very similar to Rafflecopter. I haven’t experienced any problems with the ‘Copter myself but both methods work for me 🙂

  35. Vicki says:

I’m with Holly, not so sure about the last name thing.

  36. Tracy Bailey says:

Seemed good from my end of it.

  37. Samantha says:

Seemed to work fine for me. No problems.

  38. Karen H says:

I “had issues” but, I could screw up a one car funeral. Call me the outlier.

  39. kkw says:

Easy, but I would not ordinarily give out my name and email. Pardon me, I need to adjust my tinfoil hat.

  40. Rebe says:

Worked for me, even on a mobile device.
