NK Jemisin's The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms is $1.99 today only at Amazon. I'm not sure if that price will be matched elsewhere later today. This is a fantasy novel with a bit of romance and a strong, fierce heroine who is MUCH loved by readers. This book was nominated for the Hugo, the Nebula, and won the Locus for Best First Novel.
Yeine Darr is an outcast from the barbarian north. But when her mother dies under mysterious circumstances, she is summoned to the majestic city of Sky. There, to her shock, Yeine is named an heiress to the king. But the throne of the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms is not easily won, and Yeine is thrust into a vicious power struggle with cousins she never knew she had.
As she fights for her life, she draws ever closer to the secrets of her mother's death and her family's bloody history.
With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Yeine will learn how perilous it can be when love and hate – and gods and mortals – are bound inseparably together.

ETA: Audible's Deal of the Day might appeal to you, too!
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith is the Audible Deal of the Day (3 November) at $2.95. It's unabridged at 8 hours and 14 minutes, performed by Lisette Lecat.
Fans around the world adore the bestselling No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series, the basis of the HBO TV show, and its proprietor Precious Ramotswe, Botswana’s premier lady detective. In this charming series, Mma Ramotswe navigates her cases and her personal life with wisdom, and good humor—not to mention help from her loyal assistant, Grace Makutsi, and the occasional cup of tea.
This first novel in Alexander McCall Smith’s widely acclaimed The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series tells the story of the delightfully cunning and enormously engaging Precious Ramotswe, who is drawn to her profession to “help people with problems in their lives.” Immediately upon setting up shop in a small storefront in Gaborone, she is hired to track down a missing husband, uncover a con man, and follow a wayward daughter. But the case that tugs at her heart, and lands her in danger, is a missing eleven-year-old boy, who may have been snatched by witchdoctors.
The New Comfort Food is only $3.49 on Kobo and I have a coupon. Score!!!
Loved The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Sadly, all the kindles in my family already have a copy since I bought it for my daughters long since. Otherwise, I would certainly be grabbing this. You all should. It is wonderful to have heroine who doesn’t fit in due to race and culture, a heroine who is curious and independent. The world building, including the gods, is amazing. The internecine politics make the Medicis look like amateurs. Yeah, I recommend this.
Here’s a link to a review I wrote of hundred thousand over at geekgirlinlove. It was an amzing, rich, emotionally layered book that is very unlike most other fantasy in terms of mythology and imagery.

I don’t know how long this sale is good for, but Meredith Duran’s upcoming March 2014 release, Fool Me Twice, is 1.99 pre-order for kindle at amazon.
It looks like Kobo matched the amazon deal for The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms! YAY! Now I can get it on my nook 🙂
