Books on Sale: Two Vampires, A Paranormal Suspense, A Cookbook and a Nonfiction Walk Into a Bar…

 Book The Accidental Vampire

The Accidental Vampire by Lynsay Sands is $1.99 right now. This is the seventh book in her Argeneau series, which is a mix of paranormal, urban fantasy, and comedy.

 FATE GAVE HER FANGS…

Ever since an accident turned her into a knockout vamp, Elvi Black's been catching her z's in a coffin, staying out of the sun, and giving up garlic. She knows there's more to being undead than what she saw in Dracula, but she can't very well ask her mortal friends about proper biting etiquette. But when her neighbors placed a personal ad for her in the local paper, she never imagined she'd meet Victor Argeneau, a vampire who could have his pick of any woman – dead or alive.

HE'LL SHOW HER HOW TO USE THEM…

Rich, powerful, and drop—dead gorgeous, Victor's the perfect man for a novice neck—biter like Elvi. He's willing to teach her everything he knows, but he'll have to do it fast. Someone's out to put a stake through her new vamp life, and only Victor can keep her safe – and satisfied – for all eternity.

Book The Vampire Who Loved Me

The Vampire Who Loved Me by Teresa Medeiros is also $1.99 right now. Medeiros also blends paranormal and humor with this book, which is about a heroine who has loved the hero (said vampire of the title) for years.

Julian Kane is back in town.

Once, as a girl of seventeen, beautiful, headstrong Portia Cabot saved the cursed life of the dashing vampire Julian Kane—who marked her forever, then left to go in search of his soul. He returns five years later to find the enchanting young girl he left behind grown into a bewitching woman with a woman's heart . . . and a woman's desires.

Portia quickly discovers that Julian's seductive and forbidden kiss can still make her crave the night . . . and his touch. But the Julian who has returned to London is not the vampire she remembers. His fruitless pursuit of his stolen mortality has reduced him to drunken debauchery. And a recent spate of murders makes Portia fear that the man she has always adored may truly be a monster.

Julian knows he must drive Portia away—but his passion and hunger for her grow more irresistible every time they touch. For years he has fought the temptation to embrace his dark gifts, never realizing that Portia's love may give him the most dangerous gift of all . . . a reason to live.

Book The Shop of Shades and Secrets

The Shop of Shades and Secrets by Colleen Gleason is the first book in her new Modern Gothic Romance series, and is currently .99c. Some readers adored the hero, while others felt the romance wasn't as strong as the other elements of the story. This book was originally published in 2011.

When Fiona Murphy inherits a small antiques shop from an old man she met only once, she’s filled with surprise, confusion and delight—and a little bit of terror at having a new responsibility in a life she prefers to be free and easy. As she takes over ownership of the quaint shop, odd things begin to happen. Lights come on and off by themselves, even when they are unplugged…and there is a chilly breeze accompanied by the scent of roses even when the windows are closed.

H. Gideon Nath, III, is the stiff and oh-so-proper attorney who helps settle Fiona’s inheritance, and despite her flightiness and fascination with all things New Age, he finds himself attracted to her against his better judgment.

After she finds an unpleasant surprise in one of the shop’s closets, scares off an intruder in the store, and uses her skill at palmistry to read Gideon’s future–of which she seems to be a part–Fiona begins to realize that her free and easy life is about to change…whether she wants it to or not.

Book Influencer = The Power To Change Anything

Today's Audible Deal of the Day is Influencer: The Power to Change Anything (Unabridged) for $3.95. This is nonfiction with a heavy psychology element, but I'm very curious about it. I love books about organization, efficiency and making changes easier and less overwhelming. The Goodreads reviews seem to indicate this book would be very useful for people who lead groups or are faced with the task of persuading and influencing others to adopt a change (Hellooooo PTA.)

An INFLUENCER motivates others to change.

An INFLUENCER replaces bad behaviors with powerful new skills.

An INFLUENCER makes things happen.

This is what it takes to be an INFLUENCER.

Whether you're a CEO, a parent, or merely a person who wants to make a difference, you probably wish you had more influence with the people in your life. Oh man, Accidental Vampire was the first vampire romance I’d ever read. It had me hooked. I wound up reading ALL the Lyndsay Sands vampire novels after that. What nostalgia! <3
