I like Sarah Morgan's books a lot, as in, heaping miles-high piles of a lot, and there's a whole bunch of her titles on sale right now for $1.99. Morgan is an outstanding Presents writer, one who does a great balance of opulence and luxurious settings with real and identifiable emotions and characters who aren't placeholders. I really like her books. And there are seven on sale right now. Woo hoo! You ready? I'm featuring four today and three more tomorrow.
RECOMMENDED: A Night of No Return won the RITA® in 2011 for Best Short Contemporary Romance, the first of two back-to-back RITAs® won by Sarah Morgan. Our RITA® Reader Challenge reviewer, Kylie, liked this book in part because of the emphasis on learning to communicate like an adult, and gave it an A-. She wrote in her review:
The happy ending only comes when both have made changes and can manage a real relationship…. I like that there are no major communication stuff ups. There is information not shared, and there is one misunderstanding fairly early in the book and Emma sets him straight immediately.
Money, charm and sensual skills don't make up for a heart colder than ice…Wild parties, wanton women, relentless work—nothing helps tycoon Lucas Jackson escape his dark and haunting past. Arriving at his rural castle in a snarling snowstorm, he craves only complete isolation.… But it seems oblivion can take an unexpected and highly intoxicating form!
Personally delivering the vital file left on her boss's desk, secretary Emma Gray starts to seriously regret her dutiful overtime mission.
She never expected the dark side of the usually controlled Lucas could generate such a primitive, powerful—and entirely inappropriate—reaction.
With a client list hotter than the Zubran desert, wedding planner Avery Scott shouldn't be surprised that her latest client is Crown Prince Malik of Zubran—the man who once lit her body on fire…before steamrollering over her heart.Determined to ignore Malik's lethal charm, Avery makes a very personal not-to-do list:
1. Not being Malik's intended, our relationship must remain 100 percent professional.
2. His arranged bride might have run away, but I mustn't distract him—for the kings of Zubran, duty always comes first.
3. However luxurious the Bedouin tent—and smoldering the tension—pride dictates the touch I crave stays strictly forbidden.
Sold to the Enemy is a surprisingly emotional story: the heroine is trying to escape a horrible, frightening home life, and knows that even though she's being misjudged, she has to keep going forward with her plans.
Stefan Ziakas might be her father's most hated business rival, but he's the only man who has ever made Selene Antaxos feel beautiful.
So, needing to make a new life for herself, Selene apprehensively turns to Stefan for help.
Except the dark-hearted tycoon is nothing like the white knight she remembers. Seduced, bedded and betrayed in a matter of days, Selene realizes it's not always better the devil you know.
She's sold her soul—and her heart—to the enemy!
RECOMMENDED: Once a Ferrara Wife is a very angsty Presents with emotionally scarred protagonists, a second-chance-at-love story, and tremendous eye-stinging emotional payoff at the end. If you like angst, here's your book.
Laurel Ferrara wouldn't know a happy ending if she fell over it—of course her whirlwind wedding was always going to end in disaster. But it wasn't as simple as just walking away. From the moment she is summoned back to Sicily, the shivers of unease set in….
The command comes from legendary tycoon Cristiano Ferrara, the husband she can't forget—but it might as well have come from the devil himself.
The outrageously gorgeous Cristiano's power is a potent reminder of this Sicilian dynasty's unbreakable rule: once a Ferrara wife, always a Ferrara wife….
