    Is there any place that I can get a romance novel bestseller list that only lists recent releases?  I’d like to be able to use those bestseller lists to add to my TBR, but a lot of lists are packed with older releases that are on sale, digital lists that include novellas, and classics like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.

    @Tammy:

    I totally understand what you’re asking for. Our list is compiled from our affiliate sales data for the past week, so it’s a reflection of what y’all are buying right now. That doesn’t include new releases much of the time, you’re right.

    If you’re looking for romance bestsellers which are new releases, I *think* your best option (and someone please correct me if I’m wrong) is to look at the NYT lists (ebook and print) to see which romances are present. You can also, if you’re a member of RWA, subscribe to Bookscan’s Romance top 100 for a year, but that’s a limited perspective on romance sales (I don’t think WalMart is included in Bookscan, for example).

    I hope that’s helpful – though I don’t have much to suggest. I’m sorry.

    If you are looking for an excellent recent single release, may I recommend Moriah Jovan’s latest, “Dunham”, released July 4 (very appropriate, considering the plot – it features a smart-and-gutsy female pirate, fighting on America’s side) and is a terrific read.

    Also, Moriah’s “Magdalene” is another fascinating story.

    Both are in her Dunham series, and tie in with her first book, “The Proviso”, and her second, “Stay”.

    All have rivetting plots, with well-crafted, multi-faceted characters.
