Books on Sale: Mysteries and Thrillers!

Book PRime Time RECOMMENDED: Prime Time by Hank Phillippi Ryan is $2.99. I think this deal is Kindle-only but often the price will be matched elsewhere soon. This is Ryan's first mystery, and it won the Agatha Award. If you like mystery with smart women protagonists, you'll like this. Charlie McNally, the heroine, is a television news reporter.

Silhouette of red dress, with woman holding gold statuette with her fingers crossed behind her back(Also: check out the original cover on the right- very different, huh?)

Could an innocent e-mail offer really result in murder, mayhem and a multimillion-dollar fraud ring? The last person to ask is dead…but that won't keep Charlotte McNally from poking around.

Face it–in the cutthroat world of television journalism, this seasoned reporter knows that she'd better pull out all the stops or kiss her cushy job (and that means her life) goodbye.

But all too soon her investigation leads her straight to Josh Gelston, who is a little “too” “a lot” too handsome. Could she trust a word he said? Charlie might have a nose for news, but men are a whole other story. Which means she is putting her job, life “and” heart on the line.

 Book Now You See Me

Now You See Me by SJ Bolton is $2.99. This is a thriller with some violence against women, so be ye warned.

One night after interviewing a reluctant witness at a London apartment complex, Lacey Flint, a young detective constable, stumbles onto a woman brutally stabbed just moments before in the building’s darkened parking lot. Within twenty-four hours a reporter receives an anonymous letter that points out alarming similarities between the murder and Jack the Ripper’s first murder—a letter that calls out Lacey by name.

If it’s real, and they have a killer bent on re-creating London’s bloody past, history shows they have just five days until the next attempt. No one believes the connections are anything more than a sadistic killer’s game, not even Lacey, whom the killer seems to be taunting specifically.

However, as they investigate the details of the case start reminding her more and more of a part of her past she’d rather keep hidden.

And the only way to do that is to catch the killer herself.
