Romantic Times: The Bag! The Books! The Swag!

One thing I love to do is a giveaway for the swag bag at RT. Each attendee receives a conference bag stuffed with promotional items, plus a choice of some books from the goody room. I have the bag, some books, plus an extra treat.

Here's a picture of the contents of the bag:

Contents of RT bag 2013

Here are the books that I got from the goody room and from authors to include:

Books from RT, including two samplers.

If you can't see all the titles, the books include two samplers of erotic romance and YA romance, plus the following titles:

Book The Isis Collar Book My Fair Concubine Book Christmas Rescue at Mustang Ridge

Book Accidentally Wolf Book Turning the Tide Book The Next One To Fall

Plus, I have a coupon for up to $25.00 off your next ebook order at the Carina Press store, courtesy of Carina Press (thank you!). The coupon is valid until 31 August 2013, one time use, and only for Carina Press books – but that's a loooootta books to choose from.

ETA: I also have two cards for a free ebook downloads of the anthology Five Golden Rings, plus the Vampires Gone Wild anthology as well!

Interested? Excellent! Please leave a comment and tell me what you'd bring to RT if you went next year, and you're entered to win.

Standard disclaimers apply: I am not being compensated for this giveaway. Open to international residents where permitted by applicable law. Must be over 18 and ready to party to win. Your mileage may vary. Tiaras are not optional. Comments close 12:00 PM CDT Saturday 4 May 2013. I'll choose the winner at random and ship the package from here.

If I have the opportunity to add more books to the bag, I absolutely will, so the prize may get a bit bigger. I'm presuming that's ok with you? Ok, then.  I want to send someone a piece of RT, and I hope whomever wins enjoys it!

And the winner is… Jennifer from GA, #37! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who entered! I hope I get to meet all of you at RT in 2014!

  1. Aloha!  For the previous two conventions, I brought treats from Hawaii to share Aloha.  Since we are moving to Baltimore this summer, perhaps I’ll bring treats from Charm City!

Mahalo for the updates …. living vicariously through you!

  2. I’d bring a handsome cover model of course!

  3. Tyhada says:

Wow! That’s a lot of swag which would be awesome to win because then I could find new authors to read and finding new authors to read is awesome!!! I haven’t attended any readers conferences before so this would be a great way to experience it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. laura says:

I’d bring plenty of coffee so I’d be able to stay awake for all of the fun

  5. DarthClavie says:

I would probably bring some traditional candy from my country to share (We do make excellent candy) or chocolate (also make excellent chocolate).

Other than that, I’ve never been to a big conference like that, so I wouldn’t know what to bring 🙁

  6. Holly says:

I would bring some kick ass shoes and depending on events I plan to attend, a costume to wear (if there’s steampunk, I’m in!)

  7. Sarah Wynde says:

I would bring a lot of Xanax, which I’ve never taken but I’m told would do wonders for me, because I’m clinically agoraphobic and the chance that I will ever go to a RT is… remote. Not impossible, but definitely not likely. Free books makes it almost tempting, though!

  8. Kristen says:

two drinking vessels: one full of coffee, the other full of vodka cranberry. also comfy pjs to read all the books in!

  9. Felle says:

My very own Greek billionaire alpha hero of course.

  10. Alyssa says:

I’d bring coffee and a journal so I have a spot to write down the authors and titles of books that are mentioned. That way they are all in one spot.

  11. Lynne says:

I would bring coffee and chocolates. I hear that is what my favorite authors like.

  12. Kristen Westfall says:

I’d bring a huge thermos of tea, gingerbread and NOLA swag to share. And maybe a helpful cheat sheet regarding what people usually get wrong when they write about New Orleans :).

  13. Nurse Lizzi says:

I’d bring a comfy pair of shoes – because I would be standing around all the time trying to see all the cool things there!

  14. Regina Wade says:

I would bring comfortable sensible shoes and a BIG empty suitcase. 🙂

  15. Essie says:

Shoes! Lots of pretty shoes. They are awesome, and can also act as a conversation piece. I think a notebook would also be in order. Otherwise, I don’t know as I have never been to a big conference before.

  16. Lizabeth S. Tucker says:

The first (and only) time I went to the RT event in San Antonio, I should’ve bought a large totebag. I’ve never balanced so many books at one time in my life, not even when I worked in bookstores.

Considering how many books I tend to buy, I think this time I’d bring something on wheels to save my hand/shoulder.

  17. Erin L says:

I always have to bring my pillows when I travel. So besides those I would bring Chehalis Mints to share with everyone after breakfast.

  18. Emily says:

I’d bring an empty suitcase for all of the swag!  And my tiara, of course.

  19. Hillary L. says:

I would bring my mom. I know we would both have a blast attending the conference. 🙂

  20. Vasha says:

I’d bring my fancy velvet hat with flowers, which I rarely have an occasion to wear, but it’d fit right in there.

  21. Vicki says:

I’d bring my stalker shoes! Those would be my running shoes so I could run after all my favorite authors and bloggers!

  22. Rhonda B says:

Big bag for all the swag and lots of caffeine

  23. laj says:

Like Hillary L. I would bring my Mom who is eighty-two and has been reading romance for about sixty years.  I also think I would bring photos from my life to share with my fellow commenters whom I may meet up with in the flesh.  I am so curious about many of you.  And booze……..lots of mixer too!

  24. Kate says:

I’d bring a blank notebook to write down the names of all of the authors and books I want to check out.

  25. rayvyn2k says:

I would bring a camera, sensible shoes and loads of paper and pens for taking notes. 🙂 Also, the pitch for my novel.

The same stuff I brought last time I went! I may bring more chocolate and booze this time, since I was much younger then, and sensible. 😉

  26. Regina says:

If I went, I would bring Post-Its to keep my place in all the fabulous books I would get. I heart Post-Its.

  27. Mo says:

An appetite for all things RT and NOLA

  28. JenfromTexas says:

I’d bring a sense of humor, chocolate for a quick pick-me-up, and a huge bag to carry all the cool swag home.

  29. hapax says:

Hmm.  I’d bring a sunny smile, a grateful heart, and greedy eyes?

More practically: comfy shoes, a bag-on-wheels, and mailing labels (so I could mail books home to myself instead of paying obscene baggage fees).

  30. Kelly Neal says:

I would bring my best friend. We would have a blast!

  31. Tory says:

I would bring an extra suitcase for the books and my Gramma, cuz she is my reading partner 🙂

I would bring dark chocolate, tea, notebook, comfortable shoes and an extra bag for all the
    goodies.

I would take a big bag with comfy straps, walking shoes, and a camera to take lots of pictures!

  34. Sabrina D. says:

I’d bring an extra suitcase and a camera!!

  35. kimsmith says:

I would bring all the love in my heart and tingling enthusiasm that I have for books, reading, and talking about books!!

  36. Jen G. says:

I’d bring my laptop, so I could buy up a backlist when I found a great new author!

  37. Jennifer in GA says:

My pillow, a lot of Dr. Pepper and my camera!

  38. MissB2U says:

I would bring my friend Dayna who lives in WeHo (West Hollywood) because she loves reading like I do, likes to travel and has confidence and humor that spill out of her.  Also, she works at Playboy and isn’t THAT a conversation starter???

  39. peggy h says:

I would bring my phone (both as a camera and also to order books!) and a big tote bag in case I get some extra swag that are not in bags (not that I’m greedy).

  40. MarieC says:

I would bring an extra rolling storage case and chocolates for bribes.
