Friday Videos Suddenly Love Cellos a Lot

This video comes from @Kelly_Instalove, who sent me the link on Twitter. I've only watched it about ninety times already. Something about classical remixes of pop music always makes me happy, plus the gentlemen playing are talented and, uh, yeah.

This is 2Cellos. You can find this song on iTunes, as well as their other recordings.

This is so fun and put a smile on my face today! I like when great talent is mixed with whimsey!

well, Friday videos aren’t the only one who suddenly love cello’s a lot!! WOW!

heh – shot97. yes, I really do hope they shot 97 of these!!!

  3. Three friends and I have tickets to see these guys at a dinner theatre in Virginia on Sunday and I CANNOT wait! I had their Vevo channel playing in the background throughout the morning today.

  4. Yay for cellos! One of my all-time favorite instruments. This performance is outstanding, though my ‘80s metal heart will always love Apocalyptica’s covers of Metallica songs. Behold, in all their campy glory and, er, arms… Apocalyptica – live.

Captcha: cause16. I’m pretty sure 2Cellos has caused more than 16 hearts to flutter.

My favorite if their cover of Smooth Criminal—awesomesauce all around.

Or, as the captcha suggests, 22 degrees of awesomeness.

They sound great, and they look like they’re enjoying the hell out of themselves.  That’s a lot of practice!  I wonder how they got started, what made them start to share a single cello.  Wonderful stuff.

  7. Kaetrin says:

That is so cool.  The boys clearly have no personal space issues with each other in addition to their talent.  Something very nice to watch as well as listen to.
