Although, I have a problem with the title itself. How is it “Lord Gray’s List?” He’s featured in it, it doesn’t belong to him. Typical hero, stealing thunder.
Sigh. I love a straight contemporary and the descriptions of Kristan Higgins’ books always sound like something I would love, and then I read them and the heroines drive me nuts and the family hi-jinx work my last good nerve and I end up cranky. A good sale makes it hard to resist the lure of the notion that this will be the one that makes me finally get the Higgins love. Someone hide my credit card.
Oh, god. The hero of Lord Gray’s List is named Ben. And Big Ben is positioned right there… The jokes don’t even have to write themselves.
And he time travels, too. The story’s set in 1820. The Palace of Westminster was heavily damaged by fire in 1834, and almost completely rebuilt. The Elizabeth Tower wasn’t built until 1858, and the current bridge in the 1860’s…
Keep your credit card in your wallet. It’s a terrible book.
Anyone read the Kit Rocha? The beginning of the description had me, but the “opening herself to the gang” and “submission is power” sounds like an excuse for a mysoginistic gang-bang.
Also, this may not be new, and I’m just oblivious, but this new commenting system/thing and all of its hidden abilities is interesting. (Although I’ve never seen any good happen with a “vote down” button.)
I wonder why we was putting on a shirt at all after slathering himself in oil…surely it would ruin that fine fabric (all lords wear the BEST of fabrics, don’t you know!)
I knew the upgrade was coming and am trying to go back to the prior version. Not sure I like this either – I’m not a fan of nested comments, and I’m REALLY not a fan of being forced into an upgrade, especially if it comes with “features” I do not want.
Nearly died when I got the cover. Anachronisms R Us. Am just glad the London Eye & the Gherkin are not on it. 🙂

I’ve read it. It’s an erotic romance with some group sexytimes. I quite enjoyed it. The heroine uses the sex as a way to explore herself coming from a pretty repressive culture. I’d say it’s worth it, especially for 99 cents. I loved the dystopian feel of it and thought the sex scenes weaved in well (at certain parts) to the store and the world Rocha created. Looking forward to book two!
I’m not even British, much less a Londoner, and I know these things. Why don’t cover artists? (I will admit to looking up the dates. But I already knew the Clock Tower was Victorian, and I was pretty sure about the rest.) And of course, the Eye’s not on there. That’s where they took the photograph from : )
