Book Beyond Shame - Kit Rocha

Kit Rocha's Beyond Shame is nominated in the PNR/SF category for the 2013 DABWAHA, and it's on sale currently for 99c!

ll Noelle Cunningham has ever wanted is a life beyond–beyond the walls of Eden, where only the righteous are allowed to remain, and beyond her stiflingly restrictive existence as a councilman's daughter. But only ruins lie outside the City, remnants of a society destroyed by solar storms decades earlier. The sectors surrounding Eden house the corrupt, the criminal–men like Jasper McCray, bootlegger and cage fighter. Jas clawed his way up from nothing to stand at the right hand of Sector Four's ruthless leader, and he'll defend the O'Kane gang with his life.

But no fight ever prepared him for the exiled City girl who falls at his feet. Her innocence is undeniable, but so is their intense sexual attraction, and soon they're crossing every boundary Noelle barely knew she had. But if she wants to belong to Jas, first she'll have to open herself to the gang, and to a world where passion is power, and freedom is found in submission.

Series: Beyond, Book One. Book Two will be available March 19th, 2013

Book Lord Grey's List

This book is $1.99 at BN.com only, and the slightly off-center positioning of Big Ben and the bridge are both VERY disappointing to me.

From duchesses to chamber maids, everybody's reading it. Each Tuesday, The London List appears, filled with gossip and scandal, offering job postings and matches for the lovelorn–and most enticing of all, telling the tales and selling the wares a more modest publication wouldn't touch. . .

The creation of Evangeline Ramsey, The London List saved her and her ailing father from destitution. But the paper has given Evie more than financial relief. As its publisher, she lives as a man, dressed in masculine garb, free to pursue and report whatever she likes–especially the latest disgraces besmirching Lord Benton Gray. It's only fair that she hang his dirty laundry, given that it was his youthful ardor that put her off marriage for good. . .

Lord Gray–Ben–isn't about to stand by while all of London laughs at his peccadilloes week after week. But once he discovers that the publisher is none other than pretty Evie Ramsey with her curls lopped short, his worries turn to desires–and not a one of them fit to print. . .

Speaking of special offers, there are a host of books for free under the title 'Try Harlequin' at Amazon.com, including Sarah Mayberry's The Other Side of Us.

Plus, there are some free pre-orders as well:

Book Hired by the Cowboy

This was Donna Alward's debut novel from 2007, but the free version is not going to be released until 1 April 2013. I find this very odd- but the reviews of this book are mostly positive. Also, the description! Has some exclamation! Points!

Alexis Grayson is good at looking after herself-she's been doing it all her life. So what if she's alone and pregnant? She'll cope!

But gorgeous cowboy Connor Madsen seems determined to take care of her. And Alexis can help him-he needs a temporary wife; she needs somewhere to live until the baby's born. A short-term marriage will solve all their difficulties!

As Alexis gets to know the courageous, honorable Connor, she realizes that she might have made the biggest mistake of her life. Because all this wife-for-hire wants is a marriage for real!

Book The Best Man

Kristan Higgins' new book, which came out February 26th and is already a bestseller, is $3.99 at Amazon and $4.00 at BN.com.

Faith Holland left her hometown after being jilted at the altar. Now a little older and wiser, she's ready to return to the Blue Heron Winery, her family's vineyard, to confront the ghosts of her past, and maybe enjoy a glass of red. After all, there's some great scenery there….

Like Levi Cooper, the local police chief—and best friend of her former fiancé. There's a lot about Levi that Faith never noticed, and it's not just those deep green eyes. The only catch is she's having a hard time forgetting that he helped ruin her wedding all those years ago.

If she can find a minute amidst all her family drama to stop and smell the rosé, she just might find a reason to stay at Blue Heron, and finish that walk down the aisle.

$3.99 at Amazon and $4.00 at BN.com.

  1. Nita says:

If you’re on Lord Gray’s list, he’s got a bridge to sell you.

  2. Nita says:

Although, I have a problem with the title itself. How is it “Lord Gray’s List?” He’s featured in it, it doesn’t belong to him. Typical hero, stealing thunder.

  3. Lori says:

Sigh. I love a straight contemporary and the descriptions of Kristan Higgins’ books always sound like something I would love, and then I read them and the heroines drive me nuts and the family hi-jinx work my last good nerve and I end up cranky. A good sale makes it hard to resist the lure of the notion that this will be the one that makes me finally get the Higgins love. Someone hide my credit card.

  4. Oh, god. The hero of Lord Gray’s List is named Ben. And Big Ben is positioned right there… The jokes don’t even have to write themselves.

  5. Sandra says:

And he time travels, too. The story’s set in 1820. The Palace of Westminster was heavily damaged by fire in 1834, and almost completely rebuilt. The Elizabeth Tower wasn’t built until 1858, and the current bridge in the 1860’s…

  6. laj says:

Keep your credit card in your wallet.  It’s a terrible book.

  7. Elizabeth Houston says:

Anyone read the Kit Rocha? The beginning of the description had me, but the “opening herself to the gang” and “submission is power” sounds like an excuse for a mysoginistic gang-bang.

  8. Elizabeth Houston says:

Also, this may not be new, and I’m just oblivious, but this new commenting system/thing and all of its hidden abilities is interesting. (Although I’ve never seen any good happen with a “vote down” button.)

  9. Beccah W. says:

I wonder why we was putting on a shirt at all after slathering himself in oil…surely it would ruin that fine fabric (all lords wear the BEST of fabrics, don’t you know!)

  10. SB Sarah says:

I knew the upgrade was coming and am trying to go back to the prior version. Not sure I like this either – I’m not a fan of nested comments, and I’m REALLY not a fan of being forced into an upgrade, especially if it comes with “features” I do not want.

  11. Nearly died when I got the cover. Anachronisms R Us. Am just glad the London Eye & the Gherkin are not on it. 🙂

  12. Meg says:

Looks like Amazon matched the B&N price – Lord Gray’s List is $1.99 for the Kindle edition as of March 15.

  13. Jules says:

I’ve read it. It’s an erotic romance with some group sexytimes. I quite enjoyed it. The heroine uses the sex as a way to explore herself coming from a pretty repressive culture. I’d say it’s worth it, especially for 99 cents. I loved the dystopian feel of it and thought the sex scenes weaved in well (at certain parts) to the store and the world Rocha created. Looking forward to book two!

  14. Sandra says:

I’m not even British, much less a Londoner, and I know these things. Why don’t cover artists? (I will admit to looking up the dates. But I already knew the Clock Tower was Victorian, and I was pretty sure about the rest.) And of course, the Eye’s not on there. That’s where they took the photograph from : )
