RECOMMENDED: You might recognize Kate Noble's name from reviews of her books here and at Kirkus, or you might be a fan of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries – she's one of the show's writers. If I Fall is $1.99, and is well worth it. It has a wonderfully flawed heroine, a character jilted by the hero of a different book. This story explores the aftermath of that experience. Noble is one of my favorite historical romance writers, and I hope you enjoy this book!

This book is something unique: it takes place outside of England – in 1815 Constantinople (not Istanbul). When I read it, I wasn't enchanted with the hero and felt the details of how they acted didn't fit with the social restrictions of the setting, to the point that it yanked me out of the story. But other reviews of the book online indicate many readers enjoyed it far, far more than I did. It has a 3.71 average at GoodReads.

That Sally MacKensie series is pretty mediocre. I kept getting sucked back in by fun sounding descriptions, by cover art, by their popularity at the library, by my relentlessly bad memory, but I am now clear: STA.
I just finished a decidedly unsatisfying Kate Noble book yesterday, but she’s usually decent.
That last one sounds so tempting…because I am incapable of learning from other people’s mistakes. Or my own.
Yes, I was disappointed when the Kate Noble book came up at a much higher price in Canada but then I checked my library catalogue. We have it and I’ve ordered the copy delivered to my local branch. Thanks for the recommendation!
