Hey. I just realized: nearly every cover has a nipple on it. Were there a lot of nipples running around the Regency, do you think?

  1. Tell me, author of A Lady and her Magic, how exactly does one “flaunt” society? Do you just wander around casually mentioning how shiny and awesome your circle of acquaintances is? Or do you, I don’t know, drop a lot of names? And why would you want to both flaunt AND shock society? Doesn’t it seem like those two things, while not exactly contradictory, are perhaps counterproductive?

Unless you mean “flout,” in which case, carry on.

Cover copy writers of the world, we can do better than this.

  2. Wench says:

Just FYI, “A Gentleman Says I Do” and “Lady Maggie’s Secret Scandal” are coming up full price at BN. They are 99 cents at Amazon, though.

BN does still have a bunch of other things on sale for 99 cents though, so it’s probably worth taking a look. There’s a bunch of Stephanie Laurens, Tessa Dare, even some free stuff.

  3. Angstriddengoddess says:

That’s why society was so shocked. It hadn’t expected to find itself being flaunted.

Poor author, probably didn’t expect the copywriter to flout spelling.

  4. MissB2u says:

Is this a tough room or WHAT?!

  5. Lenorej says:

Heh. Heh. We flaunt AND we flout at the bitchery.

  6. Cate Hulk says:

Heh. Nipples. And that first one has two nipples showing, just to make up for the stingy no-nipples guy on Lady Amelias Mess And A Half.

  7. Sel says:

I am going to point out that there were probably, on average, two nipples for every person running around during the Regency era. Except for those unfortunates born without one or both nipples, or those who might have lost one in a war or chest-related mishap.

However much ‘running around’ said nipples did, though, they probably would not have done so in public quite as frequently as these covers depict.

  8. GhengisMom says:

I love Grace Burrowes. I just started Maggie’s story and I’m enjoying it so far.

  9. GhengisMom says:
