That is a Gibson Les Paul. GET THAT GUITAR OUT OF THE GRASS! What the hell kind of self-respecting musician puts an instrument in the grass against a fence? If you’re going to destroy a guitar, at least do it on stage like a normal rock star.

Ha! Having looked at the headstock and the sunburst a little more closely, I think it might actually be an Epiphone Les Paul (kind of hard to tell from this angle). So we’re talking about a few hundred dollars, not a few thousand.
BUT STILL. If the cover artist is going to badly photoshop a guitar somewhere, the least they could do is photoshop it into my living room. 🙂
Umm…Minnesota has farms. Not ranches. Ranches are for beef cattle and open ranges, not dairy farms. Which is what Minnesota has. I haven’t read the book and I’m already perturbed.

If you like the idea of a romance with an aging rock star, I recommend _Natural Born Charmer_, in the loosely interlocking Chicago Bears series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. The rocker is not the core character but features prominently.

You are killing me with all your sale postings – and now one set in Minnesota! So rare to see books set in my state. (But who da heck in MN would call it a ranch. It’s a farm! We don’t have ranches.)
One of my NY resolutions is that I have to read 75% of the ebooks I bought last year before I am allowed to buy more, but dang you are making it tempting.
I hope others can enjoy the notifications.

One of my all-time favorites and most frequent re-read. Anna Fields’ narration of the audiobook is priceless, particularly her characterization of aging rocker Jack Patriot.
As a fan of rock-star romances AND stuff set in the Midwest (Illinois girl all my life), I bought The Rancher and the Rock Star. Even though I agree – there are no ranches in Minnesota!

The most prominent is, “Has the author ever actually been to a rock concert?” The next most prominent is, “Why is a contemporary of Kurt Cobain wearing sequins?”
Oh, romance. You can be so funny sometimes.

There is no doubt in my mind Cobain had sequins. Secret sequins.
This comment reminds me of a vintage Nirvana tee somebody handstitched sequins to the smiley face and the band name. Some sequins for Cobain right there.
