Hanukkah Extravaganzah, Part the Second!

A computer generated image of a menorah with a book in front of it. On the second night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches gave to me: a WiFi Paperwhite so when I read in the dark I can see!

A Kindle Paperwhite - WiFi only, sadly not blind-accessible. I'm giving away one supah-sexay Wi-Fi Kindle Paperwhite with Special Offers at random to someone in the comments.

Just tell us what book you enjoyed most this past year!

Standard disclaimers apply:  I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be 18 years of age and open to the possibility of Pajama Jeans to win. Open to international residents.

You have 24 hours to leave your comment, and we'll have a new piece of mayhem each day of Hanukkah. Now, I'm going to figure out how to make a menorah out of nine Paperwhites. Someone pass me the tape.

  7. rameau says:

I had to check but I’ve read nine five star books this year. If I only have to pick one it’ll be the Finnish translation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy because after that I started devouring le Carré‘s work nonstop for months.

Most recently though, What the Librarian Did might have introduced me to my newest favourite romance author: Karina Bliss.

A book that was actually published in 2012? Seraphina by Rachel Hartman.

  8. Eva / TXBookjunkie says:

I really liked Kristen Ashley’s At Peace and Heaven and Hell but the book I enjoyed that was published this year is Thea Harrison’s Oracle Moon.

  9. Rij says:

This is hard. I think that it sheer quantity of enjoyment I’d have to pick my month-long binge of Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooters series. If I can pick a whole series. If you’d force me to pick just one book, my head would explode, I’ve read some really good books this year from a variety of genres, in two languages, which makes compating difficult.

  10. Aaargh! Only one book??? I might have to go with Captain Vorpatril’s Alliance on this one. Even though it had a few flaws, I awaited it so eagerly that it added to the enjoyment.

  11. Julie says:

Table for Five by Susan Wiggs. I liked it so much I bought the audio book!

  12. HelenCoffman says:

What I Did for a Duke by Julie Anne Long

  16. Roxy says:

this is so difficult! I could name my disappointing book of the year, my surprise I really liked it book of the year, but my favorite?  I may have to say it was Stephanie Lauren’s Earl of Glencrae.  I was ridiculously excited by this triple pack adventure ending with this book, happy with the more “unusual” direction the heroine took, and found the hero totally redeemed from my earlier uncertainties about liking his book at all.

  17. SaraC says:

Not my typical fare, but I really really enjoyed Gone Girl. Stayed up till 4 am to finish it!

  18. Anna says:

Eloisa James’ The Ugly Duchess and Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? Because Mindy Kaling is hilarious.

  19. Liana Brooks says:

What new book did I enjoy? I’ve really loved the EDGE series books by Ilona Andrews. Kaldar Mar is my favorite Bad Boy.

  20. Christina says:

The Chaperone was the book for me this year. When I got to the end, I was actually a little misty eyed and had to go over it again.

  21. Getting Red-Hot With The Rogue by Ally Blake…this is a great to-read list for next year 😉

I’m going with First Grave On The Right by Darynda Jones!

Gosh. So hard to decide. If I have to pick one, I’ll go with Sylvia Day’s BARED TO YOU. There were so many good books this year, though, that choosing one isn’t right.

  30. Katie says:

In terms of romance, it would be some sort of tie between Easy by Tammara Webber, Her Best Worst Mistake by Sarah Mayberry, and A Lady by Midnight by Tessa Dare. It was a good year for reading.

  31. Eliza Evans says:

I think I liked Ready Player One the best. It’s pretty far from what I typically read, but I read it in January and found myself thinking about it occasionally throughout the entire year.
