Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s Slide!

Once Upon a Thanksgiving - a rather creepy thanksgiving cover.Ever feel like, if you're in the US, Thanksgiving is like the top of a slide, a really, really steep one, and the minute the turkey leftovers are put into the fridge, it's a 90 mph ride downhill, straight to the end of the year? Like, ZOOM HERE COMES HOLIDAYS WHOOSH!

This year Hanukkah is early (dang it) so by the time Christmas actually arrives I'll be 300% more over it. But even with feeling that I'm at the top of the slide looking down and knowing how fast it'll move, I like Thanksgiving because it gives me a chance to stop and think about what I'm thankful for, (and also eat and take a nap).

I am most very thankful for you, for your visits here to discuss romance, for your email messages and conversations about all manner of things, and for your curious enthusiasm about the romance genre.

When we started the site, I had no idea that there were so many romance readers eager to meet one another online, but I am so glad you're here, and that we still have so many things to talk about. If you're celebrating, happy thanksgiving. Thank you for being here. I'm thankful for you.

I’m thankful for this site too! I’m also thankful for that picture because it lets me wonder about the guy wearing what looks like a puff-sleeved woman’s blouse. 🙂

Back at you, Sarah.  I’m amazed to think what a rut my reading was in before I discovered this site.  Thanks for expanding my literary horizons, for strangely entertaining yet comprehensible tech info, for (& to) the great SB community and, finally, for the joys of bad Photoshopping.  Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Sarah! I’ve had so much fun on this site over the years that it’s hard to imagine Smart Bitches not being there when I boot up the computer. *shivers*

Yes!! I feel you there!! Normally I”m running behind on buying gifts but this year (not sure how I did it really), I only need go get like 2 more things! Phew… Maybe it won’t come so quickly now, LOL… One can hope right? I’m really not ready to begin trying to correct my dating of things – 2013 is going to be hard to write instead of 2012… 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours! <3

Our slide starts at the beginning of Oct because of birthdays, Halloween, and other family stuff.  I am grateful for so many things but the Bitchery is very high on my list.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Sarah! I know you have a lot to be thankful for this year, not least getting through Sandy more or less intact.

I also have a lot to be thankful for this year, including this wonderful site and this equally wonderful community of intelligent women who love romance but are also not afraid to hold it to high standards on one hand and not take it so seriously on the other. A Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holiday Season to you all.

Happy Thanksgiving to all here in The Bitchery!  I’m thankful that I can start my day here with a hot cup of coffee and almost always a good chuckle.  Coffee, humor and intelligence.  Not a bad way to start the day.  You guys all rock.

  8. Lenorej says:

Thanks Sarah, for the info, the hilarity, and for allowing me to enjoy the whipsmart snarkishness of the bitchery. Gobble! Gobble!

  9. Vicki says:

Happy Thanksgiving to all, too, and thanks to SB Sarah for all her hard work on this site.

    Hau’oli La Ho’omakika’i – Happy Thanksgiving!

  11. I’m thankful for all my romances and the SBTB community too.  Some say we read for escape/fantasy but at the same, I am thankful for all that romances show me:  I like to step back and see that my friends/family/life really is supportive/loving/wonderful.  Nothing like the conflict/drama/insanity that I sometimes read about… 😉

  12. Luckylewis24 says:

Hello I am new to this site but I am sooo a romance reader and I love erotica books also…I love this site and looking forward to becoming a frequent visitor!!! I am also new to blogging so I might need a little guidance lol…are you here in the United states?

  13. Luckylewis24 says:

Happy thanks giving to you over in Hawaii!! What’s it like to live there?

  14. Once you/we hit Halloween, it’s all downhill.  In almost 2 months to the day, you have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and (the) New Year.  That is too many holidays in such a short period.

Happy Thanksgiving, Sarah!! I am so grateful that my husband told me about this site! He saw the article about your first book in People Magazine. I have been reading the articles on this site ever since. May you keep it going for many years to come!!!

  16. Laura Russell says:

Totally get the slide feeling- just that here in cattle country, it feels like we’re in the chute- and we run crazily toward the opening- coffee after everything has been opened and cherished on xmas morn.

  17. SB Sarah says:

Oh my gosh, that’s so cool that your husband told you about us! I have that People magazine cut out on my fridge. I love that it brought you over to hang out with us! 🙂
