Help A Bitch Out - SOLVED!

S’HaBO-Day: More than One Hero Uses Cream?

You did it! We figured this one out! It is a truth universally acknowledged (by me for certain) that the Bitchery pretty much knows everything, and really, it's true. Scroll down to see the solution for this HaBO - and many thanks!

This request made think I could identify the book myself, but I was wrong. Jane writes:

HaBO: She is blindfolded. Her husband says Mr. So and So wants to do this to you.

I read this and can’t remember the title. Please help anyone?

A man marries a woman and the first one or more sex scenes have him using a cream in a jar for lubrication and then having quick sex with her – solely for producing an heir. It was not for his or her pleasure. She wanted to experience pleasure. So she asks him to treat her the way he treats his mistresses (or past mistresses or something like that). He gives her a warning about it, but she says she wants it. Then in one sex scene, he blindfolds her, has her laying on a bed, and tells her 3 or 4 men are there looking. Then he says Mr. So and So wants to do this to you. She says ok, and feels herself being touched. I think her husband is pretending to be those other men.

I wrote back and suggested, based on the cream (WHO FORGETS THE CREAM, I ASK YOU? NOT ME.), “The “cream” made me think it was “Midsummer Magic” by Catherine Coulter, wherein the hero uses cream because his bride isn't really willing — it was a forced betrothal — but I don't recall any fantasy scenes where he pretends others are watching while she's blindfolded. Do you remember when you read this book?”

Jane replied, I read it between Jan 2007 and maybe Dec 2011.  A five year period.  So all this means is it was published before 2012.  I’ve read a number of Ellora’s Cave type anthologies.  It’s possible it was a short story.  But I feel like it was longer.  Who knows.  I’ve only read one Catherine Coulter book and that was “Born to be Wild.”  I remember the husband saying Mr X wants to do this to you.  Then he uses other men’s names as well. I so appreciate your thinking cap on this.

Anyone recognize this book?

  1. Camie says:

It sounds like “Simply Sexy” by Kate Pearce.

  2. Kel says:

Similar, but i think you are thinking of simply sinful, the second book. The main characters are in a ménage together (although there is the trying for a heir and lack of sexy times in the original marriage bed.) There is some light bdsm in a public house (i think) although I don’t remember the touching as described above.

    Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber

I think it’s Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber, the first Lords of the Satyr book.

  5. Heidi Ponagai says:

    Definitely Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber.

  6. Jordan says:

    Ditto the three above.

  7. Jordan says:

It’s one of those two-penis (on one man) books.  I think it’s pretty funny that’s not one of the details you mentioned… LOL!

  8. BadgerChaser says:

Wait, what?  The hero has two penises???

  9. Layla says:

  11. pamelia says:

Definitely “Nicholas” although I think it’s funny that the requester mentioned the cream but not the double-wang!  🙂  These books are pretty crazy!

  12. Ruthie says:

I’m with BadgerChaser—there’s a whole genre of “two-penis (on one man) books”? How did I not know this?

  13. I actually know this!!  I agree with everyone saying “Nicholas” by Elizabeth Amber.  I will never, ever forget that cream.

  14. I’m in with Nicholas by Elizabeth Amber. I really enjoy those books.

  15. kimi romance junkie says:

There’s a whole series of “two penis on one man” books.  The Lords of Satyr series, Nicholas being one of them.  The 2nd penis only comes out once a month on the full moon, though.  Yep, pretty freaky stuff.

  16. Janestewart says:

Wow – you guys are amazing!  I’ve been out of town so I just now saw this.  I’ve read all 3 books (Nicholas and the Simply’s) so it’s likely them.  I’m going to my storage boxes to get them to see which it is.  Sounds like Nicholas.  Thank you all.  And especially thank you Sarah W for making this possible.

  17. Janestewart says:

I just found my copy of the book Nicholas by E. Amber.  Page 137 is the cream/ointment.  Page 197 starts the scene with multiple men.  You all are fabulous!  Thank you so much.
