The NY Daily News reported:
Colin Britt and Arianne Abela arranged a full-on orchestral rendition of the song replete with glockenspiels, violas and violins.
“Like everyone, I have heard this song a lot for the entire summer,” Britt told the Daily News. “And I, like everyone—whether they want to admit it or not—have the guilty pleasure of enjoying it.”
Britt got an idea to record a version from the string riff that appears during each chorus … The arrangers sent invitations to classically trained musicians near New Haven, Conn. to perform a pop song, but didn't tell them the specific song until they arrived.
I thought this was so beautiful, the hair on my arms stood up on end.
Since Call Me Maybe was the big hit of the summer around here, I love how the melancholy beginning reflects the change of the seasons, as summer comes to an end.

Wow! The choir is fabulous!
It gave me goosebumps. Seriously! Loved it, guilty pleasure that that song is. LOL I had my credit card out ready to pledge money to the orchestra, thinking it might be a fundraiser and then finally read the explanation. Yes. I would send money! Happy Friday. I’ll be singing and dancing to the song all day.

Having done this for my brass quintet for 4 years I loved it. I always told them we should have a full choir behind us… no one thought I was serious.
Oddly, this reminds me of when Stephen Colbert and the Roots made that Friday, Friday song kind of awesome.
