First: in an interesting cover reveal, Heather Massey of the Galaxy Express, unveiled her new cover for her science fiction romance Iron Guns, Blazing Hearts. Massey writes:
I’ve blogged many times about science fiction romance covers from a variety of angles. As a community, we’ve explored not only the obstacles facing SFR covers, but also the potential for creating quality ones that represent this subgenre effectively.
So when I had a chance to put my money where my mouth is, I decided that now was the time to act.
I contracted IRON GUNS, BLAZING HEARTS, a Western steampunk romance, with Lyrical Press in March 2012. Once I learned that there’d be lots of lead time prior to the release date, I began thinking about how to offer readers an entertaining and visually stimulating cover that places them right in the middle of the action.
My story has strong action-adventure elements and ideally the cover would reflect that (and serve double duty as a tag for readers). Plus, I was smitten with the cover of Angelia Sparrow’s SKY RAT. I knew that style would be a great fit for Iron Guns.
Therefore, I came up with a plan and pitched the idea to my publisher.
So Massey commissioned her own cover art, and it's pretty spiffy. Have a look.

That is a pretty fantastic cover. Not a mantitty in sight. I love that the heroine’s gun is basically a Nerf Maverick, which, as everyone knows, is the best kind of toy gun to convert to a steampunk pistol. Not that I have done so… multiple times… or engaged in pitched battles with my husband using living room furniture for cover. Because that would just be silly and childish. Right?

Arrested Development is also available streaming on Netflix, just recently finished glomming the whole series in a matter of days.
Cool cover. (BTW, do covers with breasts that defy gravity count as automatic science fiction?)
And ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT is a wonderfully funny show. (Just keep in mind that almost none of the characters are likeable. In fairness, the creators know that, which is why the 3rd season episode wasn’t called “Save Our Bluths” but rather “SOBs.”)
