The Tracy Deebs Writes A Lot of Books Giveaway

Book Cover Last year, Tracy Deebs' Tempest Rising came out, and I liked it quite a bit -but it had a cliffhanger. OH NOES. So when she approached me about doing a giveaway, I was totally down with that, except for that hangy-cliff part. So I asked if we could wait until the sequel came out – and now that the sequel is out, it is big ol' bundle of book giveaway time up in here.

While folks like us read piles of book all year long, there's something to be said for the temptation of “summer reading.” I don't necessarily read more in the summer, but I do find myself with more time sitting outside, which is one of my favorite places to read. Since Tracy Deebs (who also writes as Tracy Wolff and Ivy Adams) writes a TON of different books, she's offered up three sets of books for giving away, so if you've got a patio chair and some time, there's plenty to choose from. For reals.

Plus, each of the three prize packs will include one of the following:

The newest book is the sequel to Tempest Rising, which is Tempest Unleashed. If you're curious about the series, Tempest is half-mermaid, and in the sequel, she has to choose between the sea, which is powerfully tempting to her, and land, where she was raised. She also has to figure out how to choose between her high school boyfriend, Mark, and Kona, a selkie prince. You know, like you do.

Standard disclaimers apply: Do not try this at home. Wear sunscreen. I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. I defy anyone to say “insertion fee” with a straight face, because my inner 10 year old cannot do it. Void where prohibited. Open to international residents. Must be 18 years of age or over and wearing chaps to win. All items come from a poke free home.

The comments will be open until 9:00 pm ET Thursday, 14 June 2012. To enter to win, please leave a comment and tell me which book you'd read first, or where you'd read it. Your choice! I'll select three winners at random, and there will be much reading for the winners. Good luck!

  1. Deb G. says:

I’d probably pick one randomly, totally depending on my mood! But I’d definitely be enjoying the A/C on the couch, where I can see the sun and trees but not have to deal with the muggy, sticky, DC weather.

  2. Shell C says:

Ideally I would want to be sitting in the back garden in the sunshine on a lazy afternoon with a glass of french red wine. Realistically, I would be in my bedroom, at 1am, with insomnia after one too many cups of coffee.

  3. farthestfrom says:

The first one I’d read is ‘From the Beginning,’ because the cover interests me strangely. The female protagonist appears to have not only a stack of strawberry French toast but also a mimosa, and from her hard-to-read Mona Lisa smile I think I might appreciate them more than she does. I think I deserve them in any case, because I can’t do a Mona Lisa smile and therefore have greater need.

I’d read my exciting romantic windfall in the staff room at work whilst eating my lunch. The staff room is a sad and terrible place, and being able to read a romance novel instead of a creased back issue of Heat magazine would be much appreciated.

  4. PSJ says:

I would read these while visiting my nephews in July! Nothing like frivolous romance to distract you from twin boys and multiple big dogs 🙂

  5. Hmmm, I’d read it by my “pool” and by pool I mean fifty dollar inflatable above ground family pool that the husband and I bought for the kid, even though requirement for said pool was that we all be able to fit in it 😉

  6. Taylor Reynolds says:

I think I’d try out Tempest Rising and I’d like to read it on a plane heading to a beach.

  7. Katefitz555 says:

Tempest Rising would be first and I would read it at the beach while standing just beyond the break point so I feel like a mermaid.

  8. ashley says:

It is SO hard to find good mermaid books!

  9. JordanMichelle says:

I would read Temptest Rising because I’ve read just about every kind of romance, but I don’t think I’ve ever read a mermaid one before. And I’d read it up at my family’s cabin. It’s one of my favorite places to read because there is no electricity, and therefore absolutely no distractions.

  10. Heather says:

“Tempest Rising”. I’ve been so bored with all of the paranormal and paranormal teen books, but this actually looks interesting.

  11. pur8ple says:

I like to read stretched out on the floor. I started doing it when I hurt my back and now it’s become my default reading position.

  12. Jewel says:

I would like to read Tempest Rising first, although I must say they all look intriguing. I love it here, y’all lead me to so many new, good books!

I would read them while sitting on my back deck, with an adult beverage (varying based on whether hubby is home to be the mixologist or not) and at least one puppy on the couch with me.

As for chaps: last year my SIL was going through breast cancer treatment and lost all her hair. She had some fantastic wigs, one of which we referred to as her ‘ass-less chaps’ because it was designed to wear under a hat – it had hair around the sides, but left the top of the scalp open (think Bozo hair). On our family reunion vacation week before last we were reminiscing about her ass-less chaps. She’s all done with treatment and reconstruction and is doing awesomely well. Yay for my SIL kicking cancer’s ass!

  13. Christina Urban says:

I would read whichever I picked up first—and I would read it on a day off (seriously- I’d take a day off just to read. I haven’t had a vacation day in many months)

  14. B303tilly says:

I read everywhere! Hopefully I’ll be able to read outside at the many public fountains around town, while my kids run through them, shrieking like banshees.

  15. joann says:

Tempest Rising while lounging in the backyard in the shade of my elm tree….bliss.

  16. Catherine says:

The Tempest books – those covers are gorgeous and the weather is just right for snuggling up with a good book.

  17. Jeannie B says:

Well since I never learned to swim, I would love to read Tempest Rising and live vicariously through a half-mermaid!  And I would read it wherever there was some good A/C. 😀

  18. Amy Schaffer says:

    I’d go with Tempest first.

  19. ksattler says:

I think Temptest Rising would be first but Unguarded looks mighty nice!  Probably would be reading it on the chaise lounge.

  20. Jessica says:

My mom got new lovely deck furniture as a retirement gift (happy retirement, Mom! Only two more weeks!), so I’d definitely read out there! The Tempests sounds interesting, but lately I’ve been more in the mood for contemporaries, so either Unguarded or From the Beginning.

  21. Regina LaSalle says:

I would read Tempest Rising—anywhere.  As long as the fourth graders who are currently tormenting their teacher (that’s me!) were far, far away.

  22. Emily A. says:

I would read Temptest Rising would be my first.

  23. D Cross says:

Tempest Unleashed. I’d be reading in my comfy recliner in front of my living room window, and just maybe if the day was right with my window open my hair would fan around my shoulders giving me that hair everyone loves…Fabio hair. I can’t believe it’s not buttah!

P.S. Your disclaimer…it’s freaking awesome. I just snorted a mouthful of frozen strawberry lemonade up my noze and the brain freeze is just fabiotastic! Thanks for the laugh!

  24. Squarepeg14 says:

I would read whichever one came out of the prize package first and I would read it in my “treehouse” otherwise known as the second story deck!

  25. Not sure which I’d read first, it would probably depend on my mood at the time. As for where probably in my living room, and if it sucks me in, the bathroom, on the walk to the supermarket, and pretty much everywhere else.

  26. Jen G. says:

I’ve been in a SuperRomance mood lately, so either From the Beginning or Unguarded…

  27. Eve in Alaska says:

Tempest Rising, absolutely. I’m in Alaska, so “warm” doesn’t really apply to our weather. All the more reason to send it to me, since everyone else should be outside enjoying the weather while we poor souls are huddled under out blankets.

  28. Sharon Rene says:

I can’t decide between the Tempest set or Hidden Embers…either way I’ll be on my back patio.

  29. Kimberly Bea says:

I would read Tempest Rising (I love mermaids!) and I would do it on a deserted island in the Mediterranean. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  30. JaimeB says:

I’d read one of the two Harlequin titles first because I’ve been enjoying the free reads on their website; and I’ll be reading them on the five flights I have coming up for a business trip (oh, direct flights, how I miss you).

  31. Smgreen says:

Definitely Tempest Unleashed!  Looks like a great summer read.

  32. Babyjenks9 says:

since we’re heading into winter down here in nz, i would read the tempest books curled up in my cozy chair with a cup of tea!

  33. Ashley Loos says:

I can’t pick which I’d read first as they all look so yummy.  My favorite place to read, though, is out on the deck in full sun so that I can get a tan and enjoy a hot book at the same time.

  34. Patricia says:

I would read Tempest Rising first, and I’d read in on a porch in Maine looking out over the ocean.

  35. Amit says:

I think I’d probably read Unguarded first. And even though it’s summer, I’d read it in bed so no one in the family could see me cry.

  36. Trippinoutmysoul says:

I’m a middle-of-nowhere type girl trapped in suburbia, so when I go outside to read I angle my chair to the small portion of my fence that is completely obscured by the huge tree that grows infront of it. I can pretend I’m back in the sticks, chilling in the woods by myself. That illusion is frequently shattered by my shrieking munchkins and mouthy dog, but it’s nice while it lasts.

  37. Lois Lane says:

I’d read Tempest Rising and just to be different I’d read it in the lodge in the snow where I’m going skiing in a couple of weeks.

  38. Daisy says:

Tempest Unleashed! I’m reading Tempest Rising right now and if you say there’s a cliffhanger, I MUST READ THE SEQUEL ASAP! And then I’ll re-read The International Kissing Club, cause it’s SO cute! 🙂 Thanks for the giveaway!

  39. Nicky C says:

No idea which one I’d read first, but it’d be a great reward after my finals.

  40. Kaetrin says:

I’d start with Full Exposure – I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while now 🙂
