I bought the Edith Layton – she’s one of those older authors that I’ve wanted to read but haven’t (except for a novella that I really liked).  And I might get the Julie Ann Long – another author I’ve read good things about but haven’t actually read.

I saw a post on facebook yesterday that came from Jeaniene Frost’s blog.  She reports that she’s requested for a year that her ebook prices be lower than the paperback prices and her publisher is finally moving on that.  She explains why it took so long to get the prices lowered.

“Even at the same price as my mass market paperbacks, my ebooks sold very well, so there was a bit of a “If it’s not broken, why fix it?” mentality. Down-pricing my ebooks represents a gamble to my publisher. If they don’t sell enough copies to make up for the price reduction, then my publisher loses money compared to what they were making before. I take this risk as well since if my publisher makes less money, I make less money, too. However, I feel that this is not only the right thing to do, but also the best for long-term solvency.”

I thought that was interesting.  There’s a lot more on her website here:  http://jeanienefrost.com/2012/

So, it looks like it’s not so much a sale as it is the new price for her previously published books.  I think that’s encouraging.  I hope it continues with more books by more authors, though I’d be giddy if they could back down to $4.99!

I Love the Earl is a novella I read a couple months ago. Quick and sweet, I’d recommend it 🙂

  4. Beggar1015 says:

The Earl of Her Dreams has a pretty interesting murder mystery going on. To be honest, the mystery part is a great deal stronger than the romance thread. I still recommend it, though.

I’m working my way through the Earl books—love these themed sales!  “I Kissed an Earl” by Julie Ann Long is my favorite of the bunch so far.

  6. Jamarleo says:

I’m waiting for an Earl Untamed.
