I just bought The Black Duke’s Prize, and I’m on my library’s waiting list for “When Maiden’s Mourn”, the new Sebastian St. Cyr mystery. All of C.S. Harris’s books have been so enjoyable, I keep wondering how long can she keep it up? And what will I do when she stops writing them?

  2. SandyH says:

I just finished two bad books (one by Jessica Sims and one by Grace Burrows) and now I can enjoy C.S. Harris’ When Maiden’s Mourn. I have them all and love them. I also wish Deanna Raybourn had a new book – love those as well. Just read Lynn Viehl’s latest and highly recomment that one.

  3. Bridget says:

I just finished both of JF Smith’s books, “Falling off the Face of the Earth” and “Latakia.” All I can say is… WOW. They were so good, and I loved that with the long length (400 plus pages) I really felt that the characters were fully developed and their stories adequately finished. And only 99 cents each on Amazon? LOVED IT!

  4. Deb G. says:

I just started Sherry Thomas’ Delicious, based on the interview I read her about her upcoming book. I’m hooked so far, and hoping I like her enough to have a new backlist to read!!

  5. Gary Jordan says:

I have no disposable income (IRS Matters) just now to buy a new book. I had a credit at Bean eBooks, spent it on the eARC of “1636: The Kremlin Games” by Eric Flint, Gorg Huff and Paula Goodlett, and read it immediately. Good stuff. I have enough credit left to buy another eARC, but I’m holding out for Bujold’s next novel about Captain Ivan Vorpatril. “Captain Vorpatril’s Alliance” promises to contain romance, if it isn’t one outright. Look at the title. 🙂

  6. Monte Hellman's Mayonnaise says:

I bought The Curse of Chalion after reading some positive comments for it here and I have to say, it really is a slog. I think it’s going to be a DNF for me, although I haven’t quite given up on it even though I’m about half way through. It’s just really slow and I don’t find it to be very well-written. Although, I hated Lord of Scoundrels and everyone loves that book, so maybe I’m just weird. I’ve also been reading A Lady’s Lesson in Scandal by Meredith Duran and I’m REALLY enjoying it.
