Final Stop in Tessa Dare Blog Tour and Giveaway!

Book CoverTessa Dare's characters from her novel A Week to be Wicked ( A | BN | K | S )are making the rounds of the internet today, and we're the last stop on the tour with a really wonderful prize to give away.

First, if you've been following Minerva and Colin, here is the final chapter of their touring story:

From the Journal of Minerva Highwood:

“As the sun sets over the English midlands, we stride together through a deserted oatfield.  I can no longer deny that I’m falling deeply, madly in love with this prince of a man.  His wavy hair dances in the tender breeze as fading sunlight gilds the contours of his aquiline nose and—”

“Excuse me,” Minerva interrupted.  “What on earth are you doing?”

“Nothing.”  Colin shoved the journal behind his back.

“I heard you.  You’re reading aloud from my journal again. You’ve been doing this all afternoon, at hourly intervals, when you think I’m not paying attention.”  She looked around the field. “Just what are you reading aloud for, anyway?”

“Er… posterity.”

“Posterity?  Posterity is the reason we’re hurrying breakneck to Edinburgh.  Posterity is the reason I’m so eager to present my scientific findings.  Posterity is why we’re carrying the plaster cast of a prehistoric footprint in this trunk.  Posterity has nothing to do with you drawing our progress to a halt every hour to declaim from my private journal.”    She crossed her arms.  “Who are they?

Colin attempted to look baffled.  “They?  I don’t know who you could mean.”

“The women.   I know you, Colin.  You wouldn’t be bothering with this sort of show unless there were women to impress.”

He scratched the back of his neck.  “Well, there might be these bloggers…  And their readers.”

“I knew it.  I knew there had to be women.”  Minerva cupped her hands around her mouth and called loudly to all corners of the oatfield.  “I do hope these bloggers and their readers know that you’re an embellishing charlatan.  I never said a thing about your aquiline nose.”  She made a retching sound. “I certainly never wrote that I’m falling madly in love with you.”

He gave her a rakish grin.  “That might not be penned in your journal, darling.  But it’s written all over your face.”

“Of all the arrogant—”  Minerva glared at him.  Then she took the journal and gave him a sound thwap on the shoulder.

He rubbed his wounded arm, offended.  “What was that for?”

“Posterity.”

I know one of the most memorable trips I've taken with Hubby was a very late night drive from Chicago to Iowa City and back, just because we could. Both of us love Iowa, just because we drove through part of it, together in the dark, and talked a lot. What about you? Where have you been, or would love to go, that's special to you?

Here's the hard part: YOU HAVE ONE HOUR. Comments will close at 5pm and I'll announce the winner shortly after 6pm EDT. Ready, set, GO!

I would love to go horseback riding in Ireland.  I would take DH but he would end up on the ground so its best to leave him at the golf course.

  6. Diane Sallans says:

I Love to stay anywhere along the ocean – perhaps around Charleston, SC.

  7. SharonD says:

Minerva and Colin’s banter is cute.
Gosh, anywhere nice and secluded would be wonderful to go to with the hubby.  Maybe a nice little house on the beach in Hawaii (or any tropical setting) away from the city and touristy places.  Just a fully stocked kitchen, a huge tub, and chairs out on the porch to watch the waves or the sunset/rise would be just wonderful.

  8. Connie Fischer says:

Many years ago, my husband and I visited Biltmore Castle in Asheville, NC.  It is a magnificent place and so very romantic.  The Vanderbilt family built it and it has been maintained by the state and the family since then.  The opulence of Biltmore itself along with the furnishings, gardens, vineyards, etc. are just breathtaking.  If I could, I would love to visit it again.

  9. Jenni says:

I’ve been incredibly lucky in my travel life. My parents were very gracious, taking us on trips each year, big and small ones. I’ve been to almost every continent, to some lovely cities, and gorgeous holes off most tourist maps. But I’ve never been on a trip with a lover.

So, cliche though it be, I’d love to return to Paris with a handsome man in tow.

  10. A cottage by the beach where we could skinny dip without reservation at night 😀

  11. cyclops8 says:

Happy Release Day to Tessa.  I would love to visit Egypt and its archaeological sites such as Abu Simbel.  Bullet points are definitely sexy.

Sanibel Island, FL. Gorgeous and quiet!

I’d love to go to Tuscany – but for now… Hm. Not quite sure. Boston seems more likely and reasonable. Frankly I’d like to go anywhere for myself – and at the moment, alone sounds fabulous!

  15. Kate4queen says:

I really enjoyed my husband’s leaving England present to me- a nights stay at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath-a Regency lovers paradise-but this time I’d like to stay a week, with him of course 🙂

  16. Modokker says:

Any place there was a nice secluded beach where hubby and i could be alone and just sit and rest or talk or whatever we wanted. If we go anywhere ever it’s to visit relatives and THAT is NOT a vacation. lol

I don’t know if this comment will even count, since I didn’t know this post was here until a couple of minutes ago, but I would love to visit Toronto with my husband.  We were going to make a road trip of it last year for our anniversary and even loop around to see Niagra Falls on the way back but things have gotten really tight financially and we couldn’t do it.  Looks like it won’t be possible this year, either.  Maybe next year 🙂
