Hanukkah, Day Two - More Digital Reading!

Hey, want a Sony Reader? Sure, why not?

Time for Day TWO of the Hanukkah Madness, wherein there's eight days of mayhem up in here, and you can win prizes. Eventually I'm going to get to the end of my prize stash and someone will win a box of blank CDs and a post it note or something – but not today!

Today the prize is a Sony Reader WiFi, known by its friends as the PRS-T1RC, or “The RC” for short. The RC stands for Really Cool. Among the other Sony Readers, the PRS-T1RC is the one who stands a bit aloof, is always dressed in the most sartorial elegance, and is the first to get invited to any group party, even if they're all going to Big Lots to buy Cat Litter.

It is… the MOST INTERESTING DIGITAL READER IN THE WORLD*.

*It doesn't always drink beer, though. In fact, it doesn't have a mouth so it doesn't drink beer.

But the PRS-T1RC can be yours if you leave a comment and tell me which book gets loaded on first. The RC stands ready to hold a crapton of books from all different sources, including Your Local Library. It will NOT come pre-loaded with Nicholas Sparks. Sorry.

Standard disclaimers apply. I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 to win, and also wearing platform shoes. Open to international entries. Winner announced tomorrow morning. Measure twice, cut once.

So bring it on: which book goes on first, if you win The RC? Happy Hanukkah, everyone!

  1. Ann Rose says:

The Athena Academy series I bought over at eHarlequin, followed by the Silent Witness series (magical lip-reading heroine is far fetched, but YAY! for disability lit!).

  2. Marc says:

My first would be Lorelei James Rough Raw and Ready.  I like the cowboys.

  3. ToppysMom says:

If I get the ereader for free, I don’t think I could be expected to limit myself to just **one** download. But I’d start with the first “In Death” book and go from there. Throw in a Cruisie or five, Brockmann’s SEAL series, some of my favorite horse books, Julie James’ backlist, EIKIL, Loretta Chase’s backlist … wait, how many characters can my response have??

  4. Michelle says:

“All Seated on the Ground” by Connie Willis.

  5. Lakaribane says:

Jane @DA has made me impatient for Cecilia Grant’s A Lady Awakened so that would have to be the first book me. I would love to win a brand new ebook reader.

  6. jubee says:

An Ilona Andrews novella I purchased recently. Looking forward to reading it during the holidays!

  7. Kathy Salkin says:

You’ll probably laugh because it’s so old-school, but I’d put Nevil Shute’s A Town Like Alice on it first.  One of the best wartime epic romances set in Southeast Asia and Australia.

  8. Aidaalberto66 says:

My first upload would Stephen King’s new book which I still haven’t read and I heard it’s really, really good.

  9. Harebrainedschemes says:

Hmm. Probably Ethan of Athos, by Lois Bujold—it’s one of the few Bujold books my library doesn’t have.

  10. Terhare says:

    anything Loretta Chase!

  11. Kathryn says:

I’d put something sexy from my library, because how awesome is it that my library has erotica?

  12. I’d put on the new Nora Roberts ‘cause I’ve been meaning to get it.

  13. Danielle Doelle says:

The Hunger Games Trilogy! I read the first and need to read the next two.  Its the first time I’ve looked forward to watching the movie after reading the book!

  14. Carrie Z says:

I’m looking forward to reading Death Comes to Pemberly, so that’s probably what I would download first!

  15. Sarah Jordan says:

I would add The Night Circus first, because I’m dying to read it!

  16. Karen says:

I’d first add my comfort reads: Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, and all the Anne of Green Gables books.

  17. Annmarie says:

Pamela Clare’s I-team series, I haven’t read them yet and really want to.

  18. SaraE says:

The first book I would load would be any one of the Cynster books.  🙂  I totally heart Stephanie Laurens!

  19. BON says:

I would first load “The Perils of Pleasure” by Julie Anne Long which I’m currently reading on my Samsung Android phone.  My Sony Reader (last year’s version) died shortly after I purchased the Sony Reader WiFi this month for my mother this Christmas.  I have three Sony eReaders (including a PRS505), and all have died in the last year due to battery/power issues. I think that I’m due for an upgrade too!

  20. PamG says:

The first thing I’d load?  The complete Vorkosigan saga, then present it to the spouse who greets new uses of technology with, “Ah-hah!  It is to laugh….”

By the way thanks for the giveaways, Sarah.  They are always fun, though I’m kind of embarrassed by the intense competitiveness that overwhelms me at the slightest hint of a contest.

  21. Kathy Merkel says:

First titles to go on, would probably be my collection of Shiloh Walker titles.

  22. MaddBookish says:

    Death Magic – Eileen Wilks

  23. Lord of Scoundrels.  Was curious to pick it up at the library after reading excerpts in “Everything I Know ABout Love I Learned from Romance Novels” but none of the libraries in my whole (large) town have it.  Grrr.

  24. Allmyjunk76 says:

I would add the Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn. I love to reread them every so often.

  25. Eternity 20 says:

How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf….I love Molly Harper and her crazy characters!

  26. Jdecredico says:

11/22/63.  It’s fat and heavy so the hardcover would be tough to tote around in my purse.  Then I’d load the latest Darcy book I could find in digital.

  27. I’d add Brenda Whiteside’s Tattoos, Leather and Studs

  28. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

  29. Unimaginative says:

There’s a book coming out in January that I want, but can’t remember.  Dang.  Umm,  probably Fate’s Edge by Ilona Andrews, which I’m waffling about because it’s on the high end of my $$$ scale.

(aka Wahoo Suze—at some point I’m going to have to amalgamate my various online IDs.)

  30. Tina says:

Jill Shalvis’s Lucky Harbor series. Haven’t had a chance to get them yet but have been ogling them.

  31. SaraLC says:

Unraveled by Courtney Milan would be the first.  Really looking forward to reading it!

  32. Tiana Scott says:

If I got it , it would be a gift to my mom but I’d load it w/ An Introduction: Ariel’s Pet by Qwillia Rain for her

  33. Cino says:

The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn because I just brought it.  I hope I win!!!

  34. Emily says:

    Loretta Chase’s Don’t Tempt me

  35. Katy M says:

While wearing my platform boots, I would add The Duke is Mine by Eloisa James since it’s the next book on my Upcoming Books To Be Bought list. Happy Hanukkah!

  36. Suex says:

The Hunger Games series.  I know, technically three books, but they’re my favorites right now 🙂

  37. Rasz39 says:

World War Z – the short stories are perfect for reading around a toddler’s bed time

  38. Emily E says:

I start a new reader with a pile of books from Jordan Castillio Price.  A new reader would deserve really tasty books.

  39. Beth says:

Happy Hanukkah! I would get The Next Always.

  40. JennH says:

Hmmmm… first book would be Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase (I can read that monthly!), followed by the entire Kelley Armstrong backlist. I’m also really enjoying Richelle Mead’s Succubus series. I love my old Sony but the lack of wi-fi is really starting to bother me.
Happy Hanukkah! Happy Holidays! Merry Merry! Jovial Thursday to you all :0
