Hanukkah, Day Two - More Digital Reading!

Hey, want a Sony Reader? Sure, why not?

Time for Day TWO of the Hanukkah Madness, wherein there's eight days of mayhem up in here, and you can win prizes. Eventually I'm going to get to the end of my prize stash and someone will win a box of blank CDs and a post it note or something – but not today!

Today the prize is a Sony Reader WiFi, known by its friends as the PRS-T1RC, or “The RC” for short. The RC stands for Really Cool. Among the other Sony Readers, the PRS-T1RC is the one who stands a bit aloof, is always dressed in the most sartorial elegance, and is the first to get invited to any group party, even if they're all going to Big Lots to buy Cat Litter.

It is… the MOST INTERESTING DIGITAL READER IN THE WORLD*.

*It doesn't always drink beer, though. In fact, it doesn't have a mouth so it doesn't drink beer.

But the PRS-T1RC can be yours if you leave a comment and tell me which book gets loaded on first. The RC stands ready to hold a crapton of books from all different sources, including Your Local Library. It will NOT come pre-loaded with Nicholas Sparks. Sorry.

Standard disclaimers apply. I'm not being compensated for this giveaway. Void where prohibited. Must be over 18 to win, and also wearing platform shoes. Open to international entries. Winner announced tomorrow morning. Measure twice, cut once.

So bring it on: which book goes on first, if you win The RC? Happy Hanukkah, everyone!

Hmm, I’d say the Dante Valentine Bundle!

  2. Henofthewoods says:

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde – I need to reread the beginning of the series so I can read the most recent. I was told that they spend a long time in a bookstore searching for a book, finally they go for help to the manager of the coffee shop that is in the coffee shop – I am so smitten with this, I must restart the series and catch up.

  3. Anne says:

    Michelle Sagara’s Cast in Silence.

  4. Lil' Deviant says:

So many choices.  Maybe one of the freebees from All Romance.  Or maybe Richelle Mead’s new one Shadow Heir.  I have been looking forward to that one.

  5. Ashley Leann says:

my current obsession is Wuthering Heights, so I’ll go with that. It would be nice to have a digital copy so I don’t further damage my badass hardback copy.

  6. Tin Ong says:

I’d upload all of Elizabeth Hoyt’s books.  (And re-read them all again!)

    Happy holidays!

  7. cyclops8 says:

The first book downloaded will be Julie Garwood’s “Saving Grace.”

  8. Cheryl McInnis says:

Lothaire, by Kresley Cole….by the time Canada Post delivered my new Sony, it will be released already 😉

  9. KPM says:

I would load The Sharing Knife series by Lois McMaster Bujold.  I have read the series a dozen times.  It would be nice to have it at my fingertips whenever I wanted it, rather than trying to find it in the very unorganized library we have in the basement.

  10. Brandie says:

The newest Jennifer Weiner novella, “Recalculating.” It’s only available as an e-book, and I’ve been dying to read it!

  11. Melissandre says:

The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss.  I’ve been waiting for paperback, but a special prize deserves a special treat.

  12. Kaetrin says:

Id give it to my husband so it would be Raymond E. Feist’s Magician. The second book is very romantic but don’t tell him I said so.

  13. Jo says:

Jeez that’s a hard one probably Notorious Pleasure by Ms Hoyt. Have had my eye on it for a while now and a new ereader is a good excuse to buy it(well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!). Thanks again for these great giveaways.

  14. Diana says:

The first book I’d download is Touched by an Alien by Gini Koch.

  15. infinitieh says:

The latest Lord of Deliverance, IMMORTAL RIDER!

  16. de_Pizan says:

I don’t have a specific, but I know I’d definitely be pillaging Gutenberg and the like for some of the older more obscure classics that I can’t seem to find anywhere else.

  17. ElleKeen says:

One of the few Kate Hardy’s I haven’t read. I love her Harlequins and am pretty sure a new one just came out.

  18. Nhill says:

My first choice would be the new Inspector Lynley mystery by Elizabeth George…then it would be downloads galore of all sorts of SBTB recommendations to keep me going thru the long northern MN. winter!

  19. bookworm4664 says:

The absolute first book? Chesapeake Blue by Nora Roberts

  20. Heather says:

Oooh, Nalini Singh. Either first book in the Psy CHangling series, the last book or the whole series. 🙂

  21. Dharma says:

Merry Hanukkah!  E-Readers for Dummies?  Is there such a book?  Technologically Challenged here.

  22. Vandy Jones says:

I’d load A Bite Before Christmas by Lynsay Sands.

  23. zinemama says:

First up would be Devil’s Cub by Georgette Heyer. That way, anytime I wanted, I’d be able to read that delectable scene where Miss Challoner meets the Duke of Avon at the French inn, a scene containing my favorite line in all of Heyer (it comes after Miss C confides that Vidal forced her aboard his yacht):

“May I ask what were his lordship’s tactics? I feel an almost overwhelming interest in the methods of saylight abduction employed by the modern youth.”

  24. zinemama says:

Uh, that would be “daylight abduction.”

  25. LSUReader says:

Courtney Milan’s Unraveled would be the first book loaded.  Thanks for the contest. Happy Holidays.

  26. Diane Sallans says:

so many choices, but I was just looking at your note about Sandra Hyatt – I think I’d load some of hers.

  27. TanyaD says:

    Any Lora Leigh Breed book!

  28. Diatryma says:

Courtney Milan’s Unclaimed, because I haven’t read it yet.

  29. Renda says:

“Attachments”  by Rainbow Rowell because it was my favorite of 2011.  With a free reader the painful agency pricing would be mitigated slightly.

  30. Erin says:

After a lot of “you have to read these books!” from my niece I have finally started The Southern Vampire Mysteries, also known as The Sookie Stackhouse novels. So, my first book would be one of those. Thanks for the chance to win! Happy Hanukkah!

  31. Charity says:

Well if Brandon Sanderson would revise faster maybe A Memory of Light!  But, since that’s months away let’s go with Sarah MacLean’s “Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake” – I’ve put myself on a “book diet” until I get through the to-be-read pile that’s already in the house, which is also the reason I haven’t yet sprung for an e-reader.

  32. NikiN says:

I mostly stick with genre fiction (historical romance, paranormal, sci fi, mystery, etc.), but I’m intrigued by the Tomato Nation book club’s discussion of Inside Scientology: The Story of America’s Most Secretive Religion, by Janet Reitman.  My local library has just entered the digital age with ebook rentals, so I would begin by seeing if they could get this for me.

  33. Zara K says:

Lord of Scoundrels. Hands down. That book is EPIC.
And Flowers from the Storm. It is equally epic, but on a totally different level.
Oh, oh! Harry Potter everything, if Ms. Rowling ever does decide to release them.

  34. duchessjms says:

Hmmmmm…. I’d probably have to go with the newest Eve Dallas – New York to Dallas.  Then Pride and Prejudice, lol.  Happy Hanukkah!

  35. Susan says:

Hmm, I’d have to give this some thought.  I currently have almost 2800 books (real and ebooks) on my wish list, so the problem would be deciding which would be first.  (And, yes, I AM demented.  But I plan to live until I’m 200 so I can get thru my reading list.)

  36. Riwally says:

Any book by Grace Burrowes.  Her Windham series is awesome.  Of course, there’s always Jeaniene Frost’s series with Cat and Bones.  She has a new book coming out next year that I just can’t wait to read and would love to read it on a new Sony. (hint hint).  Heavy sigh,…..someday I might actually get rid of the multitude of paperbacks I have haunting every square inch of my house and go completely digital.  Oh one can dream, right?

  37. Rachel says:

“The Princess Bride,” definitely. It’s a personal favorite.

  38. Sara Fleming says:

    probably something from kresley Cole.

  39. Gabrielle says:

I’d try some recently released ebooks of Patricia Gaffney since I’ve never tried her and heard a lot of buzz.

  40. jepeb68 says:

Since the reader would go to my daughter the first book would either be a history of Abraham Lincoln (her favorite president) or any of Kate DiCamillo’s books!
