Friday Videos Love Excavators

Via Joelle comes this truly evil song. It's like Erasure went and took Extra Strength EmoCedrin and made a song. About excavators. (I thought they were called backhoes, but what do I know? Apparently I know NOTHING. That's what I know.).

Good luck getting this out of your head.

Link!

I love the part where the excavator takes a shower. I hope your weekend is spent doing the things you love to do, and that you get to take a shower when you're all dirty and tired.

Hehe, really “catchy”. I noticed there are 19 more songs with videos available. I wonder if they’re all this… this… I can’t find words to describe it, but I think you know what I mean. My cousin’s kid who is a Bob the Builder fan would love this.

  2. Juliana says:

Why hullo thar earworm, make yourself comfy in my head, why don’t you…

You know what’s really driving me crazy, though? I can’t figure out the words of the line before “This is what an excavator does.” It’s something “This is the work of (garbled in my ears, something about “love”?). This is what an excavator does.” Can someone with better hearing help me out?

  3. SB Sarah says:

“This is the work I really love…. because that’s what an excavator does.”

I think every profession needs a song like this.

  4. Sarah Frantz says:

Excavators: Front scoop, usually with long arm.
Backhoes: front bucket, back scoop (hence BACK hoe).

And you call yourself the mother of two sons. WHY do you now know the difference?!

  5. TamB. says:

I now have the visual of Erasure (dressed as per their Take a Chance on Me clip) dancing around a work site in hard hats singing this song.  My son (aged 3) would love this.

  6. Theresa Meyers says:

The husband of one of my best friends works an excavator. Sent her a link so she can get the earworm too.

  7. Amanda M Garlock says:

I feel like the excavator is attempting to seduce me.  It makes me uncomfortable.

  8. H. Vert says:

That video was fabulous.  But now I have the chorus stuck in my head.  😀

  9. emkw says:

Totally cool. You got me to go to see if they had other videos, and now I know what a “backhoe” is: http://www.youtube.com/user/tw…

  10. VirginiaLlorca says:

Spouse used to work for P & H.  They made hugeys of this called “drag lines”.  We have a music video called “I Dig Dirt”. Tune not this good. “See how long his boom is?”  It’s everywhere, girls, everywhere.

  11. Silver James says:

Ok, This is the sexiest homage to big equipment I’ve ever heard. I swear my next novel is going to be called Excavator Love.

  12. Hillary Wade says:

Yeah for a Dad who’s a heavy equipment operator…and who let me drive one (and various others) as a teenager!!!

  13. Ann says:

Oh, I know what I’m showing my 4yr old tonight!

  14. Joelle says:

I do my best to bring culture to all and sundry. 😉

  15. Nerdylutheranchick says:

The Bulldozer one sounds like something from the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka. . .

  16. shiny says:

Actually to me it sounds like a song out of The Worst Witch (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt00… an 80’s made for TV movie which I really liked as a kid, but that , as it turns out, did not stand the test of time.

  17. shuzluva says:

    I. Have. This. DVD. You haven’t heard anything until you’ve heard the fellerbuncher song. Don’t judge me. I have a three year old who’s favorite colors are yellow (CAT) and green (John Deere).

  18. SB Sarah says:

What on earth is a fellerbuncher?! I think I need to own this DVD.
