Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Two!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, we’re rocking out for the second night of Hanukkah!

To continue the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a collection of historical romance with some historical fiction mixed in.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Jewish people eat jelly donuts, known as sufganiyot, on Hanukkah, which is stone cold awesome. Double knots are best for tennis shoes.

Ahoy! Contest the second!

On the Second Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A massive selection of historical romance!

Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have not yet eaten enough sweet potato latkes.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

Give one away?!?!?!? …. Well I guess since I already own, read, and LOVED the Devil Wears Plaid, I will give that to my sister as a gift … but the rest are for me!!! I love historical romance! Its my absolute favorite! I can’t even decide which one I would read first…

  2. Kate Vinée says:

The Medeiros, I think, is what I’d read first, since I’ve been having a lot of amusing synchronistic experiences involving Scotland lately.  And I’ve heard many good things about The Devil Wears Plaid.

  3. Jama says:

I’d probably read ‘His Christmas Pleasure’ because it seems the most topically relevant, and given that bounty of books, I don’t know how else I’d pick!

  4. Helen of Troy says:

    Now *that’s* a prize!

With a collection that awesome, I’m going to say that the first one to be read will be the first one that comes out of the box!

  5. Delia Bourne says:

I’d take the Caskei book because I haven’t read anything of hers in a while and I wonder if that’s a step back cover and do I see MORE?

  6. SandyH says:

I would love to read the Caroline Linden and I would give the Suzanne Enoch book to one of my friends (but I would hope to be able to read it when she is finished).

  7. Diatryma says:

I’d probably read the Eloisa James first, if it’s not one I’ve read, and then the one with actual black people on the cover if the summary’s not totally awful.  I’d almost certainly share with another romance-reading friend, too.

  8. dreamysusan says:

I’d definitely give away a Kiss at Midnight, as I own it and know it’s great.  I’ll use it to convert more romance readers (or at least coax them from the closet).

I’d read Rules of an Engagement first.  I’ve seen her books around, but haven’t read anything from her yet.  The cover intrigues me!

  9. JWZ1978 says:

Book giveaways are the best 🙂  I’m excited for Seven Nights to Forever and his Christmas Pleasure because (among others) those are two I want to read that the library doesn’t have!

  10. Catriona says:

Definitely Midnight, because I love romances with a different setting.

  11. Zsa Zsa says:

i would definitely read the Sarah Maclean book first. i loved 9 rules to break when romancing a rake. it was a very good guilty pleasure read. after that my next choice would be outrageously yours, it looks suitably naughty.

physical92: oh my, getting physical with 92… well i think you get my drift

  12. Heather S says:

I would start with Rules of Engagement.  Love that series and can’t wait to read more!

  13. Denise says:

What a great treat!  Happy Hannukah!  I think I’d just close my eyes and grab something from that pile and get started.  There’s snow coming soon, so it’s a good time to hunker down with some historical romance.  Not that there’s a bad time.

  14. Pam says:

I think I would read The Devil Wears Plaid first, because I’ve really enjoyed Teresa Medeiros’s comments on some past discussions on this site, but I haven’t had a chance to read anything by her.  Or maybe You Only Love Once since I really enjoy Redheadedgirl’s reviews, and she’s such a Caroline Linden booster.  Or perhaps I would put them all in a bandbox, blindfold myself and pick one.  Such luxury—sigh….

  15. Mikki says:

Oh my. Best Hanukkah gift ever. I’d start with Rules of an Engagement first.  And then pass it on to my sister:)

  16. Anna says:

I’d read “Devil Wears Plaid.”  I’ve been SO tempted to buy it since it came out, but haven’t made the leap yet.

  17. Judy says:

I would give the book You Only Love Once to my friend Anna and i would read the Devil Wears Plaid!

  18. Jackie says:

I’d read Midnight first – I’m a sucker for books set in Boston and this one sounds awesome.

    Happy Hannukah!

  19. Linda Blowney says:

“His Christmas Pleasure”. I admit it, I’m a sucker for the Christmas romances!

  20. Jasmijn says:

Ooh, I want to read both Outrageously Yours (it has “outrageous” in the title!) and The Devil Wears Plaid (it has “devil” in the title!), but I’ll go with Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord, since I’ve read and liked books by that writer before.

  21. Victoria says:

Rules of Engagement. I love the cover.

  22. Angela Dunn says:

Oh, I would SO have to read “The Duke’s Night of Sin” first … how could I resist, considering that saucy way he’s looking over his shoulder?

  23. Kbrum says:

First to read=the Devil Wears Plaid, T Medeiros. Cos I’m looking for an easy read.
To give away = Too hard for boarders!

Maybe the Seven Nights Are Forever Or the Caroline Linden book cos red headed girl reviewed something by her just recently
    OR
Open Country by k waters (?) cos I read the back once.

But after they’ve all been read.

  24. Jen H says:

Now that’s a book haul!  I’d start with Seven Nights to Forever, just because I’m highly suggestible and it’s been recently reviewed and captioned here:)  Love how you celebrate the holidays, Sarah:)

girl84: yes, even a woman of 84 is still a girl; my late grandma was quite girlie at 70, and would have been at 84, too!

  25. Lil' Deviant says:

I would pick up Scandle by Amanda Quick for the book club.  Happy Holidays everyone!

  26. Julie says:

Awesome collection! I’d read Ten Ways to Be Adored first, because I recently finished Nine Rules to Break and I’m anxious for the next installment. And I’d give away Emily and the Dark Angel – the only one I already own.

  27. Amy P. says:

I would have to read Seven Nights to Forever !  I can’t wait to see it they get swallowed up by the purple monster on the bed!!

  28. Kelly says:

We have secret santa at work every year, and we write down what we want on a list in the breakroom. This year I asked for “trashy romance novels.” I hope this provides the person who pulled my name with some entertaining holiday shopping!

  29. Caty says:

    Wow, that’s a givaway!
I’ve been intrigued about Seven Nights to Forever since I read your review, also I loved Ten ways to be adored when landing a lord so I think it would be great for a gift.

  30. Elizabeth says:

I’d read Seven Nights to Forever… can’t resist that cover!

  31. BethP says:

Tis the season, so I’d read Cathy Maxwell’s book first.

  32. Val says:

Hopefully I closed the italics correctly.

In any case, I’m voting Seven Nights to Forever. I covet that book like crazy. I even petted it the other day in the bookstore – so pretty! I..may have some issues.

  33. Val says:

    Dangit! Somebody help us!

  34. Sarah McG says:

I would read Seven Nights to Forever first, but Teresa Medeiros would be a close second.

  35. lorenet says:

I’m looking forward to reading Seven Nights to Forever.

  36. Courtney says:

I would read 7 Nights To Forever based on your review

  37. michellekcanada says:

I’d probably read “A Kiss at Midnight” by Eloisa James because I haven’t read anything by her and I have been dying to. I hear great reviews.
I’d give away “Ten Ways” by Sarah Mclean because I ADORED that book along with “Nine Rules”. I already have it on Kindle and I would love to get one of my friends to fall in love with the story as did I.

I love HR so this is a super cool package of books you have here!!! *drools*

  38. Kate says:

I’d read A Pirate’s Possession because all my favorite romance novels are about pirates! I have a collection of them! 🙂

  39. Carin says:

I’d read 10 Ways to be Adored by a Lord by Sarah McLean, because her last book was so awesome!

  40. Natasha R says:

I’d probably start with the Sarah MacLean one first. Haven’t gotten around to reading it and really looking forward to it 🙂

I haven’t read any of those books. I would like to read all of them before giving them away. But unfortunately these are digital. So I guess I can’t share it. Sucks 🙁
