Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Eight!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s time for the fun to end. Had enough? One more? Sure!

One last giveaway as part of the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader that’s rather awesome, but getting hard to find.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Digital or paper reading is awesome, but you knew that. Love is a battlefield.

Ahoy! Contest the eighth!

ETA: It’s not over until it’s OVER – I have a $50.00 gift card to the eHarlequin bookstore, thanks to the fine folks at Harlequin! So! Since folks have awesomeness in store if they win, I’m going to extend the contest for a few hours extra, and the winner will get both the awesome prize below AND the $50 gift card. WOO HOO! Happy Hanukkah from Harlequin!

imageOn the Eighth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A new-in-box Silver Sony 505. I have a big soft spot for this reader: clear screen, memory slots, slim but portable.

Just leave a comment below, and tell me what you’re wishing for most this holiday season, if you’re celebrating, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

Actually, I really do want a reader.  I may have to save up a while.

    Sam

  2. I now have high-speed Internet on my computer, so I got the one thing I wanted most. Next highest priority is a DVR, though if the TV tuner card I bought ever decides to cooperate with me I’ve got that too, and next after that is a Blu-ray drive for my computer, which I know better than to expect, and next after that is an assortment of DVD box sets. Of course all the wants are trumped by the need to pay down my credit card debt…

  3. kathleen B. says:

I wish for a light-hearted Christmas. Plus a Sony reader. Wouldn’t that be a great holiday?

  4. I really want an EVO phone (my phone is ancient) but I think I’m getting new brakes for my car instead 🙁  Which really is good as we’ll be driving to Houston to visit my brother and SIL (yay!)

  5. Sabrina D. says:

Peace from all the stress swirling around here right now…then a new car stereo!

  6. Eskimo says:

Mulah to make that ‘travel across the world’ dream happen..

  7. H says:

I would like a drama free and restful Christmas. Or for a time traveling Highlander to appear at my door. Either one.

  8. MicheleKS says:

I wish for peace on Earth and goodwill to all…. and maybe a trip to Hawaii to hang out on the beach with Alex O’Loughlin. Oh, and an eReader would be nice too.

  9. Janet H says:

I want all my family and friends to safely make it through all their ‘to-ing and fro-ing’ during this busy travel time.  Oh, I do want book money.  I did ask Santa.

  10. TeriAnne Stanley says:

Well, peace on earth, a cure for cancer and sustainable energy would be nice, but I’ll settle for a nice new book case to get my TBR pile up off the floor.

  11. Sarah says:

My new baby girl to have a healthy happy life.  To keep her sense of joy and wonder about this world always.  And to always know I love her and think about her every hour and minute of the day.

  12. RHD says:

Peace of mind. Helped along by being alone on a beach somewhere warm, with nothing to think about other than which fancy drink with an umbrella in it to try next.
And, of course, a Sony Reader.

  13. Judy says:

Yes i will be celebrating the Holidays with my family.  I hope that this holiday is as restful and fun as we have had in the past.  My parents are in their 80’s and i am glad for every event that they are still able to attend.  Happy Holidays!

  14. Deb says:

I’d like for the bf to find a job! And I’d really like a few days of downtime. That’s all. 🙂

Season65 – tis the season to party like it’s…ummm…never mind

  15. triplets5 says:

How about a nice calm holiday season.  The bustle is great but family time is so much better!!  Happy Holidays everyone.

  16. Ashley says:

I’m wishing for a peaceful week and great memories for my 3yo twins—lots of excitement from them this year. 🙂

  17. Cindy A says:

I was hoping to have my children home this year for Christmas. My eldest DD lives a distance away and can’t afford to travel. My son is going to try and make it out at some point, but he’s newly engaged and she wants to be w/ her family. My middle DD flys out Christmas eve

and my youngest DD flys into my sons home town Christmas eve. Right now it looks like my husband the 2 cats our dog and my DD’s dog for this year. So I want them all to be safe wherever they may be.

  18. My best baby girl, an Australian shepherd, has been gone for two years. I’ve been looking in vain for another shelter Aussie with no luck. Before I end 2010, I’d love to adopt another shelter puppy. She won’t be Chelly, but I’ll love her just as much.

  19. Kathleen says:

I just want to have some time off from work.

  20. Susan Laura says:

I would love to be surprised with a nice vacation getaway between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

  21. Kristie says:

I am wishing that my husband will be able to enjoy Christmas.  I am also wishing for a Keurig coffee maker thing!

  22. Nonnie says:

I’m really hoping to not find a pink slip in my stocking this year.  It’s looking iffy this morning, so that would be the best gift I can wish for.

  23. Kbrum says:

Wish for ….. I have everything!
Maybe some time to read would be nice!

  24. zvi says:

I’m hoping the girl I’ve been seeing spends Christmas day with my family.

  25. Linda B. says:

My husband and I want to get a new TV. Anything else, including each other (!), we already have. 😉

  26. arani says:

What I want for Christmas ….. leaner thighs!
    Run, run, run.

  27. Laura Henderson says:

Great giveway!  What I’m wishing for most this holiday season is that my entire family can be together for the holidays.

  28. Jen G. says:

I’m already getting my wish—a week and a half off of work to visit my family!  Ten days of reading, baking, and happily following my 21 month old niece wherever she wants to go!

  29. Tracie says:

    I’d really like a job.

  30. Shelly says:

I don’t want a particular present – I want to be pleasantly ecstatic to receive a present. I am a big proponent of the perfect surprise gift. If I receive anything, I’m happy, but I don’t have a set “I want ____ more than anything this year!”

Possibly b/c if I got a gun, I would poke my eye out. ;-p

I don’t celebrate the holidays in a religious way, at the moment, but I do look at it as a wonderful time to be with family & friends, and will be traveling to Michigan to see mine again this year.

This is a great contest series, by the way. It is so kind and generous of you to offer so many great prizes. 🙂

  31. Hydecat says:

My husband and I are spending Christmas together without any other family for the second time in our lives. I wish it to be a wonderful week of peace, quiet, and fun. Also, I wish for a pony. After all, tradition must be observed.

  32. ellie anne says:

Happy Hanukkah and the rest of the holiday season! 🙂

  33. Rae says:

My hubby to like the job he’s about to start finally after 14 months of unemployment. And the ability for the two of us to get to spend some quality time together during my time off for the holiday, not stressing out over family visits and all that mess

  34. Soraya says:

I am wishing to get off work for the holiday.  I’m the newest employee though, so it’s probably not going to happen.

  35. What I want for the holidays a flash for my camera. Because family peace just ain’t gonna happen.

  36. Amitatuq says:

I don’t know what I really want.  What I’d like is for my sister and cousin to be here for Christmas but airfare is too expensive right now.  I guess I’ll just enjoy the family that is in town and the fact that I’ll be off work at 8 am and will have a 3 day weekend afterward!  If someone wants to throw a bodhran drum under the tree for me, I won’t complain either… 🙂

  37. magneticwave says:

This is the first time my family (both divorced parents! Full sets of grandparents! New parental significant others!) are celebrating Christmas together, and I’m bringing my boyfriend home with me. So, um, I’m wishing that the house will still be standing come December 26th.

  38. Kristi Luchi says:

As far as warm and fuzzies, I’m wishing that I can have a smooth happy christmas this year.

As for gifts… I want the husband to take the kids away for the entire day, sometime around the holiday, and not expect me to clean the entire house while he’s gone.

    Such is adulthood…

  39. What I wish for most this Christmas is for everyone to call me “Doctor.” I defend my dissertation this week, so hopefully it’s not a pipe dream. I know it’s not as deep and emotional as some of the others’ wishes, but there it is. I’m 32 and have been in school since I was 4. I’m tired and I want to be done. Oh, and if Gerard Butler is in the Atlanta area, I’d like him to stop by, too. Hubby won’t mind, I’m sure.

    (Haha…captcha is “research27”. Is that a sign?

  40. Sycorax says:

I’m wishing for a healthy niece or nephew.

Spamword – hospital82. Let’s hope not, for any of us!
