Smart Bitches Hanukkah Festival Giveaway: Part Eight!

imageHanukkah, oh Hanukkah, it’s time for the fun to end. Had enough? One more? Sure!

One last giveaway as part of the festive merriment to celebrate reading, both paper and digital, I have a digital reader that’s rather awesome, but getting hard to find.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment, and I’ll select a winner each day. These contests are open to international winners, and I will do my best to ship this week, provided people send me their addresses promptly.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. If anything, my gift is exceptional support of the United States Postal Service (Happy Hanukkah, US Mail Carriers!). Digital or paper reading is awesome, but you knew that. Love is a battlefield.

Ahoy! Contest the eighth!

ETA: It’s not over until it’s OVER – I have a $50.00 gift card to the eHarlequin bookstore, thanks to the fine folks at Harlequin! So! Since folks have awesomeness in store if they win, I’m going to extend the contest for a few hours extra, and the winner will get both the awesome prize below AND the $50 gift card. WOO HOO! Happy Hanukkah from Harlequin!

imageOn the Eighth Night of Hanukkah, Smart Bitches Gave to Me: A new-in-box Silver Sony 505. I have a big soft spot for this reader: clear screen, memory slots, slim but portable.

Just leave a comment below, and tell me what you’re wishing for most this holiday season, if you’re celebrating, and you’re entered to win. Comments close in 24 hours, but fear not, there’s another book – paper or digital – giveaway coming soon. Because Hanukkah lasts for eight crazy nights, and I have lost my ever lovin’ mind.

Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Reading!

I hope we get to enjoy our Christmas holiday in peace, that my parents aren’t asked to work, and that we aren’t invaded by visiting relatives and/or friends who stay overlong and must be entertained. I wanna read my new pressies!

Oh, and I really hope that the others don’t hog the dial-up! I needs my Twitter and SBTB fixes!

  2. Rhian Cahill says:

I want an iphone but I think the family are missing all the hints. *sigh* I guess I’ll just go buy it myself when it doesn’t show up under the tree on the 25th.

  3. Sophie says:

A nice hot duke in disguise pretending to be normal bloke who falls instantly in true luuuuuurve with me and my magical hoohaa.  I’d even settle for a normal bloke without any dukeness.  Or at least a good book that I can pretend with.

    Happy hannukah Sarah!!!

Seem62: I seem to remember at least 62 books with that plot line.

  4. I wish to go to some exotic place and get lost in there forever….

  5. Lane says:

I would love to be entered for this!

  6. Danielle says:

My family and I are going on a cruise together, and I’m wishing that we all enjoy it as much as we’re hoping for! 😀 It’s been a while since we’ve spent any length of time together, since I live interstate, so I am really looking forward to it.

  7. Johanne says:

I’m going to London for Christmas, and I wish everything will go smoothly (that means no more snow, please!).

  8. Shell says:

for this holiday season, what i’m wishing for the most is hopefully a peaceful time for my family… no family drama, esp. for my bro who’s trying his best to not be the cause of most of it.  =o)

  9. April Brookshire says:

I just want my son to have a great Christmas.  He’s four, so this is the first one that he’s really getting into and understands what is going on.

  10. dinazad says:

Love, harmony and a relaxed week for all of us is what I hope for and expect from Christmas. And I hope the sauerkraut my sister and I made in October will turn out well – it has to ferment till Christmas, so we’re holding our breath (and have a packet of store-bought ready, just in case).

  11. Amber says:

I am wishing for a few days to myself to relax after a long nursing school semester 🙂

  12. Gorgeous Nerd says:

Appropriately, what I want the most this holiday season is a digital reader of some kind.  I love reading ebooks, but it’s just not convenient on my laptop.

  13. Pallavi Rao says:

Happy holidays all!! I’d like a hunk rolled up in chocolate sauce with hundreds of thousands sprinkled all over him. 😉

Barring that an ereader would be great, as mine just went kaput. 🙁

  14. Kristan A says:

What I want most is for my mom to finish regaining her health so she can stop worrying and get back to enjoying doing things with her friends and family.  And what I want most for ME is a lovely silver Sony PRS-505 to replace my much-loved identical model, which after 3 years of hard use has become very tired and temperamental.

    Happy holidays to all!

  15. D.L. says:

Entering to win for sure.  That Sony e-reader is lookin’ real good!

All I want for Christmas is… probably just a really relaxing time with the folks, and some good homecooking!

  16. Ollie says:

I hope that my boyfriend’s first visit with my mother this holiday season goes smoothly! I expect them to at least get along but I am wishing and hoping that they ‘click’ – will make future holidays that much more enjoyable!

  17. BadgerChaser says:

For Christmas, I want some time to relax, have a glass of red wine curled up on the couch with my husband as we look at the lights on the tree.  His dad is dying of cancer far away, he just started a new job, and he deserves a chance to just snuggle up for a day or two of whatever he needs—relaxation or grieving or whatever that may be, I want to have the chance to provide it for him.

  18. Emily E says:

I want to cuddle up with my sweetie and read.  We don’t really celebrate.  With a birthday the week before and a birthday the week after, we really don’t need to.  As a kid my birthday was always lost in the big celebration.  So we have a fancy meal, usually turkey, and go for a walk in the quiet and lights.

  19. I’m hoping for a new stove. Mundane but mine has caught on fire twice recently. It’s decrepit as hell and I love to bake.  Aside from that, I’m just wishing for a happy, healthy, and relaxed holiday season this year.

  20. I am so excited about your contest that I have been checking in from airports, etc as I made my way from Egypt to Germany just so I wouldn’t miss anything! I did unfortunately miss part 7, which makes me sad as contemporaries are a personal favorite, but I guess I was busy chugging gluewein at the time 😉

security word: values26. Why yes, winning an ereader would be an incredible value!

  21. Robin F says:

I am wishing for the snow to melt, we have had record breaking snow and the city has ground to a halt and it would be nice to walk without worrying about slipping again!

  22. Lisette says:

Happy Hanukkah! Happy Holidays to all! I’ll be spending my time trying to get my son to enjoy reading so he’ll do better in school and appreciate it.

  23. Renee Richardson says:

This holiday season my biggest wish is to spend it with my family I haven’t seen in years. They haven’t even met my 2 year old son and we are expecting again so seeing them would be a Christmas Miracle. LOL!!!
Thanks for the great giveaway 🙂

  24. Cindy McCune says:

I would Love to win this.  I e-read on my P.C.  There will be no Christmas for me this year.  My mom died and I spend my time lost in books to shut out the pain.  But I put up the tree because she would have wanted that :`)  I wish the person who wins a very Happy Holiday…love your family & friends, you never know when they will no longer be with you!

  25. Alex says:

I’m wishing for lots of sleep.  Also just generally a peaceful, happy time.  I really enjoy Christmas and I’d hate it to be so busy and stressful that I can’t enjoy myself.

  26. headgirl says:

Quiet loveliness with my beautiful family; my husband and daughter are being so supportive of me during my illness that I just want us all to relax and have fun.  Oh, and an e-reader would be fabulous so I didn’t have to share mine anymore!

  27. Ell says:

It seems to be a “trying to find direction” season in my family this year; wishing for all good directions.

  28. Milena says:

Well, I’m hoping for a new phone. What I’d really like would be a tablet, but I’m not holding my breath there.

Spamword: said36. Yes, I’ve said about 36 times that I want a new phone. I just hope my family can take the hint(s)…

  29. Virg says:

Am wishing for the family to get together ‘cordially’ for once, and for my very sick Mom to get better and stronger.

Oooh and a Panasonic Lumix LX5 to take pictures for this Christmas and New Year (hey, it’s a wish I know will be repeated for years).

  30. Bibliophile says:

What I want most this holiday season is for my grandmother to be well enough to enjoy the holidays. Since moving from her cosy little apartment into a nursing home, she seems to have lost the will to live.

  31. Valerie says:

Oh, I really, really, really need a new ebookreader.  I’ve got an old ebookwise that is still going strong, but doesn’t read pdf’s.  I so need to update….please Santa…I’ve been a very good girl….bats eyes!!!  Hehe!!!

  32. Virginia E says:

Some of the details are a little personal, but between a death in the family and local extended family having other plans, there isn’t going to be much of a holiday celebration around here.

  33. Sofie says:

I would really like the heat to start working properly in my bedroom. The cold air is perfect to sleep in, but getting out of bed in the morning is a nightmare.

  34. Cat Marsters says:

I want Richard Armitage’s car to break down in the snow outside my house, which will be empty of other people. Possibly he will have lost his shirt at some point. We will be unable to leave the house for days. I will have to keep him warm. It’s my duty as a human being.

Failing that, I suppose I’d have to settle for world peace.

  35. N says:

Can I wish that I win this contest?

Mostly I just want the chance to see my grandfather again… I live on another continent and he’s dying. If he lives two more weeks, I will be able to see him before Christmas. That would mean a lot.

  36. Copa says:

I NEED a digital reader this year, as a flat-broke college student who couldn’t afford to go home for the holidays this year I plan on drowning my homesickness in books, and my laptop get’s hot and burns my chest after a few hours in bed with it :p

    Happy Holidays Everyone!

  37. Margo says:

A nice quiet and peaceful Christmas. With a few warmer days thrown in.

  38. Lisa V says:

I want to be a little like Scrooge…visit romances that are Christmas Past, Present & Future….

  39. Jaye says:

I’m hoping to make it through the holidays without getting sick—I get sick EVERY year during holiday time. My husband thinks I do it on purpose (how does he think I manage it? By going around licking sick people?!?).

  40. Sabine says:

White Christmas and a huuuge amount on my book card (reloadable gift coupon/card=) And/or enough cash to get an ereader if I don’t win one;)

    Captcha case29: Yes, I’ll soon be needing 29 bookcases…
