Sizzling Book Club January Selection: Here Comes the Groom by Karina Bliss

Sizzling Book ClubIf you read the chat transcript from our Sizzling Book Club chat the other night, you saw at the end that I announced the next book club pick: Karina Bliss’ Here Comes the Groom.

Book Cover YOU. GUYS. Seriously. I couldn’t have enjoyed this book more: a terribly real heroine with Real Problems who has a deep and abiding friendship with the hero—it’s friends to lovers with secrets and an over-the-top awesome ending, plus outstanding dialogue and hilarity. GO READ IT. Here, have blurb:

If Jocelyn Swann weren’t so furious, she’d probably laugh. Her best friend, Dan Jansen, has launched a campaign worthy of his Special Forces training to arrange their wedding, from music and minister to flowers and food. What part of no does he not understand?

Their marriage “agreement” was a tipsy scrawl on the back of a coaster…three years ago! It’s not a question of love. Of course she loves Dan. She’s loved him all her life. If only she could get him to slow down a minute and listen—to be the friend she needs right now—she could convince him that marriage would ruin everything.

As usual, if you use SBTBARE at checkout, you will get a 50% eBook Bucks Rebate at AllRomance.com, the official sponsor of the Sizzling Book Club. You can also buy a copy at Amazon.com, or Book Depository, or wherever the books in your preferred format are sold.

I’m already working on scheduling the chat, and author Karina Bliss is all over it, so if you read the book and enjoy it, you’ll be able to chat with the author at the next chat session. Please note: several participants told me there are now popup ads in the CoverItLive window during the live chat. I had NO idea, and I apologize profusely for that! I’m going to look for another onscreen chat option, but if you have one to suggest, please email me at sarahATsmartbitchestrashybooksDOTcom. If I can find a way to keep CoverItLive but get rid of the ads, I will do so. My apologies – I had no idea.

But since it is The Holiday Season, we’re doing something a little different this time: Karina Bliss has offered up three signed paperback copies, and I have three digital copies from All Romance to offer, so if you’re thinking you want to try this book, leave a comment and let me know which format you’d prefer. You have (OOPS – a little over) 24 hours to win.

Standard disclaimers apply: I’m not being compensated for this giveaway. Winners are chosen by the Random Integer Generator. Your mileage may vary. Void where prohibited. Do not remove this tag under penalty of law.

I cannot wait to hear what you think of this book. Karina Bliss is one of the best Harlequin authors I’ve read, and I would love to hear your reaction to this book when we next convene the Sizzling Book Club Chat.

I’ve never ever read a Harlequin.  I’m fairly new to the romance genre, so I will make this my first.  I’d like snook, please!!

This book sounds so interesting, and as they say never look a gift horse in the mouth, either paperback or e-book would be wonderful.

  7. krsylu says:

I am in love with the friends-to-lovers trope. I live it! My DH and I were best buds in college until I went away for two weeks. While I was gone? Agony. Came home from my trip; we talked until 2 in the morning; he proposed three days later. Been married 20 years now!

Book format? Paperback, Kindle, Nook, Adobe Digital Editions, PDF, whatever. I have an iPhone with multiple apps. 🙂

  8. Jill B says:

I would love to win a copy in either format, although I prefer an ebook. I’m looking forward to the next chat!

  9. Julie says:

The book sounds great and my library system doesn’t have it, so I’d love to win a copy (paperback).

  10. susan says:

I have read great things about a number of Karina Bliss’s books, and I would love to try one. I can do Kindle or paperback.

  11. Lori says:

I would love to win a copy of this. It sounds good and my source won’t have it available for several more weeks. I hate delay of gratification 🙂

I would love to read it on my Kindle!

  13. Kittie Coroner says:

I would love to read this and add it to my small but loved collection of signed copies!

No need to enter me in the contest, Sarah (well, I guess if I win, please draw another commenter!)  I already have the book, but just wanted to say how very excited I am to know this is the next book chat!!

I bought this book during the half-off ebook sale at eHarlequin.com…and am absolutely loving it.  This is my second Karina Bliss book (after the Librarian book, which I also enjoyed a lot).  Really, really looking forward to the next book chat!!

  15. Heather says:

This book sounds interesting. Friends to lovers in a believable way. I’d love a copy in either format.

    problems39 – A portent of what’s to come?

  18. Me! Me! Please!  I have Kindle for PC but also love signed-by-the-author paperbacks.

Of course if I don’t win I will have to buy because this Ms. Bliss and her books are getting too much in awesomeness not to give her a read.

  19. DanielleO says:

Oh I’m intrigued.  Paperback or Kindle version please!

And thanks for having this contest!

  20. orangehands says:

    I’m curious about it.

    Print please.

My friend sent me the link to this post because friends-to-lovers is my absolute favorite trope! Paperback or epub version pretty please?

  22. Awesome giveaway, thanks! I’d prefer paper, but I’ll take digital also.

  23. This books sounds awesome! I’d prefer digital (if I’d be able to read it on Kindle), but I’d take paper as well.

  24. Danny says:

This book sounds like a lot of fun~ I haven’t read a Super Romance in AGES.

  25. Elise S. says:

Read the review over on Dear Author and immediately scampered over to BN to check it out…seems like a good way to start a new year of reading.
Would love to win an ebook version although I wouldn’t scoff at a paper copy.

    Thanks for the contest.

  26. Melody says:

Looks like a fun read!  :O)

In paperback please (although I have the Kindle reader on my notebook, so that would work too).  I would love to read along with everyone (as a student on a budget, it’s difficult to participate in the book club as often as I’d like.  My local library just can’t get me the newer books).

  27. Sally says:

    Paperback please!

I passed up on Librarian and was going to do so with this book too—I’m a rainbows and unicorns kind of gal so the except turned me off—but since lazaraspaste’s review at Dear Author, I feel like I should give this book a try. After all, I’ve been expanding my reading horizon, so why not do so with this book, too?

  28. Miriam says:

digital please …then I can read on my jazzy new phone

  29. Virg says:

I just read a review of this book in Dear Author. Golly am so glad you picked this one, it looks like a great read, starting of the year with a bang, aye?

Eep, would love a digital copy for my Kindle. 🙂

  30. LeslieB says:

woo-hoo! I could do either format; paperback or digital.

    thanks so much!

  31. Erin says:

I am excited to read this book. Either format works but I would love a signed copy!

  32. JWZ1978 says:

I’ve read a couple reviews of this one now and I’m thinking it is definitely worth a try!  Count me in 🙂

Um, and really, my New Year’s Eve captcha is “death23”…that sort of creeps me out a bit

  33. Alia says:

paper! kill the tree! spill it’s sap! squee!

  34. Ariana says:

    That sounds great. Paperback please!

  35. Jayne says:

  36. appomattoxco says:

I’d love to try this one!

  37. Laura D. says:

This sounds like a good read, I’ll have to write it down to find on my next trip to the bookstore.

  38. SandyH says:

I just received a Kindle for Christmas and need to download some books. This book sounds like a lot of fun.

  39. LizM says:

This book sounds terrific, and the cover is great. I’d love a paperback copy.

  40. daffiney says:

It sounds great. (I love friends-to-lovers stories.) I don’t think I’ve ever read a Harlequin, so it’s good to know where to start!

I’d prefer digital, please. I turned 40 this year, and suddenly my eyes are so bad that I can’t read normal paperbacks without lots of squinting and repositioning of books. I was totally distraught until my husband came to the rescue with a Kindle for our anniversary.
