Help A Bitch Out

HaBO: Avoid The Mall at Christmastime

Romances help us with so many Important Life Lessons, including Avoid The Mall at Christmastime.

Colleen writes looking for the book with just that message.

I read this book a few years ago at a rented condo.
It was part of a series and the hero was a SEAL or definitely an army man and the
heroine was a book clerk in a mall. It took place around Christmas (maybe
Christmas eve) and the hero was going to propose, but girlfriend didn’t
think they were serious. She had kind of a bitch mom (maybe a doctor).

The mall closes and heroine is alone in the mall when BAM! it’s being
robbed! By a group of guys who have (spoiler!) ties to the hero’s father’s
death 20/whatever years ago. The father was in the army and accused of
stealing, but died while it was occurring. It was complicated and this is all
revealed in a cinema.

Heroine and hero dick around the mall, jacking things from stores (walkie
talkies, jump ropes) and discover a pregnant lady is there! And goes into
labor (of course).

Hero’s swat team/ Navy Seal team/ fancy alpha male attack squad discover
that they’re in the mall and plan how to get in and help.

One sercurity guard is in on it and another is shot by the robbers. They
hide him in pillows…or behind a mattress.

It’s part of a series that follows all of the brothers.

See what I mean? Going to the mall before the holidays is totally an exercise to place yourself in mortal peril. Anyone remember this book?

I know this one!!! It’s an SIM, Diana Duncan’s Midnight Hero – the first in a trilogy about brothers in a SWAT unit.

    I liked the entire series.

Oh, and if you buy it, 10% of proceeds are donated to the Oregon food bank. Which totally rocks.

    Ha ha ha ha ha.

I want to read it just or the ridiculousness of the situation. (Also, I have totally had this fantasy of being left in a mall and having to fend off the zombie apocalypse; I mean, the amount of stuff there…awesome.)

    Lori: totally rocks.

    Oh wait….

See?  Yet another good reason to avoid the mall between Thanksgiving and New Year’s.  Don’t say you weren’t warned!

Huh, the one time I was stuck all night at the Waldens where I worked, (because the gate broke and it took them forever to get there) the only exciting thing that happened was I got to read. No fun robberies or hot men to keep me company.

But I am going to go buy the books, sounds like good ones for my kindle app on my phone.

I totally love that! I will now think of all SEAL, SWAT, Ranger or whatever manly group of guys as a Fancy Alpha Male Attack Squad!!!!  Classic!

And since this is the military, we have to use the acronym FAMAS! LOL

    “FAMAS”

You all are awesome. It’s kind of scary how many books have one of these in it—that is not going to stop me devouring them like candy, however.

I once went to the mall on Black Friday. No, no, no—my Dad wanted a couple things that were on sale, but I almost didn’t get a parking spot, and half of what he wanted was already sold out.

Captcha: small38. I don’t think there is anything small about the FAMAS.

I want to be a FAMAS spunky side kick. If only because I have three older brothers so I’d totally snap at them any time they got TOO alpha!

    Lori got it!
    Ahhh, thank you so much!
I’m totally going to get the others in the series!
    Thanks, guys :)

Ooooh, and fire up the Photoshop, because Lori gets a title. That’s two to craft. MWAAHAHAHA.

I love the idea of a Fancy Alpha Male Attack Squad. Think of the children’s show spinoffs: FAMAS in Pajams! They’re coming down the stairs!

Wait, that’s inappropriate for children. Never mind.
