Winner, Winner, and Thanks for Creeping Me Out

Maybe This TimeI seriously could not read the comment thread for the Maybe This Time giveaway alone in my house without the dogs near me. CREEP-TASTIC.

I love the ghost stories – and your reasons for not believing. But alas, I can only pick 5 winners. So, without further ado:

Anna Richland

Teri C.

Please email me at sarahATsmartbitchestrashybooksDOTcom with your mailing address – congratulations! Thank you to all who entered!

So… a modern romance based on The Turn of the Screw? Awesome! I was interested to see on Jennifer Crusie’s website that she took the book at face value. I thought the generally accepted interpretation was that the governess was imagining the whole thing, which is just as, if not more chilling (oh god, that last scene!). The film supports this, even to the point of adding a scene to negate the strongest piece of evidence for the governess’ sanity.

Unfortunately I didn’t see the previous post, which is sad, as my only ghost story appropriately resembles Henry James’. :(

Congrats winners! I didn’t enter this time because I have been lucky enough to win quite a few things on the SB site, and didn’t want to get greedy ;)

I am totally bookmarking the contest post with all the great comments – it gives me confidence that the line of ghost hunter books I have in the works could do very well indeed…maybe I should refer to some of the comments in my pitch?

Thanx ladies, this is Teri C.
Good job all you ladies who wrote comments. Some were funny, and creepy, and made for a good morning read. I cannot wait to read somemore.

Woo Hoo, Doing the happy dance. I called DH right away to share my excitement since it was really his ghost story.  Thank you so very much.

Was crazy busy this last week so missed the give-away :( but will say that I lived in a haunted house in Maine when the kids were small and would get up in the middle of the night to find someone unseen (both kids in bed) playing Super Mario. Reasonably decent scores, too. Who knew ghosts liked Nintendo?

Looking forward to the book coming out and, I hope, to reviews on this site from the winners?

Oh Sarah—love the linky thing you did with the names of the winners!  Beats scrolling and squinting to see what they wrote. =)

Wait.  Does that mean I need bifocals?!?

Wow!  Never would have predicted that.  Thanks, SB Sarah. Big smiles here.

I can’t say I never won anything before, as I did win a pair of tickets to a monster truck rally back in high school. But then again, someone had called in pretending to be me as a joke.  It wasn’t a very nice one.

So this is my first cool prize. *preens
