RWA: The Photo Gallery

I got photos. Lots of photos. Some have already been on Twitter, but some not.

image

Yes. Hello Florida. You are HOT. (Anyone else see this door and wonder where it went?)

image

This is the booksigning during setup. The room is huge. And EMPTY. Also hot. Because of Hello Florida.

image

Unpacking ahoy! There were a LOT of boxes of books. A LOT.

image

See what I mean? LOTS of books.

image

The Literacy signing wasn’t the only signing, either. The Penguin/Berkley/NAL signing had a HUGE line. Some folks in line had luggage carts and boxes ready to go. Made me think of my first RWA where I packed an empty bag inside my suitcase to fill with books. Came home full, too.

image

Marianne Mancusi and Alyssa Day (sorry about that, Alyssa).

image

Jaci Burton and Mr. Jaci Burton 😉

image

Alyssa Day signs custom bookplates that were designed by Ninth Moon. They’re really beautiful – not that I’m a huge squeeing fangirl of Ninth Moon or anything.

image

Nora Roberts signing books.

image

Ok, help me out here. I can’t read my own handwriting (whimper). On the right is Jill Shalvis. The author to the left? Help! (Ma’am I am so sorry!) ETA: The author on the left is Kandy Shepard! (Thanks, Jill).

image

Keri Ford wears absolutely awesome shoes.

image

Did I write down whose shoes these were? No. Do I still covet them? Oh, yesssssss.

image

The Harlequin party from the doorway. Photographers were snapping pictures all night then adding them to the slideshow on the dancefloor. VERY cool.

image

The other cool feature of the HQN Party: a photo booth where you could snap a picture, sign it, then get a print out in a few moments. Victoria Dahl and Jennifer Echols took a really, really cute picture.

image

RITA night! You thought the shoes were awesome before. It is ON in the shoe department. And the dress department. Many sequins live for this evening alone.

image

Stephani Fry, Carol Ritter, and Erin Fry, wired and ready to update Twitter and the RWA website as the awards are announced.

image

The view from my seat. The RITAs are a very big production.

image

A RITA makes a phone call after the show. Probably ordering pizza, I bet.

image

Roxanne St. Claire and Kresley Cole, retinas all aflame after Cole’s RITA win.

image

And remember I said the Mills & Boon UK posse were awesome? They so are – next time you’re in London, make sure to find their offices and take them out for a pint. They are hilarious fun.

And that’s my photo round up – for some reason, some of my pictures were SO dark it was like I was taking photos from inside a tent. No idea why.

LOL I should have dragged you to my room for my shoecase! I packed some 13 pairs of shoes! I don’t remember the exact total as I tossed in some extras at the last minute.

thanks for the pics. Even being there, I missed so much!

  2. Keri Ford says:

Oh! My! I! Was! Happy! To! Be! Here! I! Guess!

    Forgive! Me!

  3. Jaci Burton says:

    Sarah!

Thank you so much for taking a picture of my book. And me. And Mr. Jaci Burton, who says hi. 😉

Admittedly, the awesome shoe pictures make my feet curl up in their flip flops and want to hide. They are so over the conference, apparently.

You are the bestest, though Your Love Is My Drug is on a constant loop in my head now and has been for days. Urgh.

  4. I showed my husband the pictures (I’ve been laying the “see what awesomeness I missed” on very thick) and all he said was “If I go are people going to call me Mr. Shannon Stacey?”.

No, dear. They’ll call you “the guy that came with the author wearing Crocs”.

  5. Keziah Hill says:

Aussie writer Kandy Shepherd http://www.kandyshepherd.com/ is in the pic with Jill Shalvis. Currently one of the organisers of the RWAust Conference that starts next week. Yay! Can’t wait.

  6. Jill says:

You see the woman in a pink shirt slaving away in the distance. Me. I really like helping with Literacy signing set up.

  7. Melissa W. says:

This post was really fun! I hope I’m able to go someday. 😉

  8. Diane V says:

I’m guessing that the owner of the fab red shoes was Nora Roberts who is in your video in a red dress and always has the most beautiful shoes.

  9. Liza Palmer says:

I took that exact same “Hello Florida” door picture…

  10. rebyj says:

waaaa damn flood ruined my RWA fun. It should be “Hello Tennessee” dangit! Yes I’m jealous. lol
