  1. Treehugger says:

The Pride and Prejudice one sent me reaching for the DVDs of the BBC version. 6 hours of bliss on the cards. Thanks guys!

  2. D.L. says:

P&P definitely my favorite in the bunch.  Great character picks.  I think it’s so funny because it flows so well!

  3. SL says:

I think the P and P video was the only way I’d ever allow the beloved Don Bluth (animator for Dreamworks pictures like Anastasia) to mix with Disney…. absolutely fantastic.

  4. krsylu says:

I’m giggling so hard, my eyes are watering.

  5. Katherine B. says:

What a bunch of awesome sauce!
Very good synchwork on the voicing.
Oh, Mr. Darcy! Even in a cavalier collar you are all arrogant handsomeness!

  6. emdee says:

The P&P was wonderful!  Thanks Bitches!

  7. Babs says:

These are brilliant. And the Brokeback Mountain one has a typo in the credits making it even better ‘Heat’ Ledger!

  8. Juju says:

    SUPER cute 🙂

  9. lyssa says:

I now want to see all of Austin’s work done in Animation, cause …well just cause, never to young to get addicted to Jane.

  10. LOVED these!  What fun!  Thanks for the morning giggle.  🙂

  11. Nadia says:

Fabulous!  With two young girls, yes, I have all those movies.  Took a bit to remember what movie Darcy came from, but yeah, got that one, too.  I might just have to talk the girls into watching Anastasia this weekend – lurve me some John Cusack, even animated.

  12. darlynne says:

These videos were great, also made me want to reach for P&P. And the music from Brokeback Mountain, I still love it. Thank you, Gustavo Santaolalla, for that beautiful score.

  13. Katie says:

I wondered if that “Heat” was a Freudian slip?? HA!

  14. KimberlyD says:

What movie is Mr. Darcy from? I know everyone else’s movie but I just can’t place him. I was leaning toward the Beast post-transformation from Beauty and the Beast but he didn’t have that many scenes once he was a man, did he?

  15. quichepup says:

The Brokeback Mountain was my favorite. I wish they had used the voices from the BBC P&P instead of the newer one though.

  16. Nadia says:

Darcy is from Pocahontas II:  Journey to a New World.  The character is John Rolfe.

  17. Betsy says:

I love this!  And I agree with the first comment: you can’t beat the BBC version.  The Keira Knightley one just feels like Cliffs Notes in comparison.
Also, the Hercules clips managed to do the impossible and make Twilight look sorta neat! (not that I haven’t *koff* read all the books.  Cuz I have.  But hey, I work for a teen magazine, and I need to stay on top of all the cultural whatnot…)

  18. orangehands says:

    Those were AWESOME!

Brokeback one made perfect sense…what? I was the only one putting Disney heroes into m/m relationships?

Does anyone know who “Anne Hathaway” is? It kind of looks like Marina, but I’m not sure. I don’t remember an eagle in her scenes.

  19. Nadia says:

“Anne Hathaway” is from Quest for Camelot, put out by Warner Brothers in 1998.

  20. ocelott says:

I see I wasn’t the only one who thought Prince Eric was a little too pretty to be straight.

  21. orangehands says:

Nadia: Thanks! I’ve never even heard of this movie…must get it soon.

Actually, people at deviant art even made the heroes into cover models, so we’re close to having this happening. (Not Work Safe; three different links, though the second one disturbs me waaay too much.)

  22. Rebecca says:

Ok, I have to ask: who is the “Heat(h) Ledger” character in the Brokeback Mountain trailer?  I can’t place him in a Disney movie, but he reminds me of Rodrigo in the Spanish animated film “El Cid: la Leyenda” (

), one of those annoying movies that is just good enough that you can’t write it off, in spite of all that’s wrong with it (the blatant racism of the over-the-top villain; the transformation of Jimena – who is tough and regal and truly a medieval Smart Bitch – into a generic Spunky Girl Heroine; the weird ending).

Off-topic: when is someone going to write a GOOD romance in English about Rodrigo and Jimena?  Preferably about their MARRIED life?  Come on, how hard can it be to write romantic suspense about conquering a province and surviving murderous royal politics? 😉

  23. JaniceG says:

I know it’s now a long way until next Friday but as long as you’re in a Disney mood, you really need to check out “Mean Girls” à la Disney:

  24. Cat Marsters says:

You know what, I’m actually quite surprised there hasn’t been an animated version of P&P. Hell, we’ve had TV and big screen and Bollywood and modern-day and even zombies. Why not reach a new audience? The Beeb did animated Shakespeare when I was a kid, and some of them were pretty good (of course, some were just weird).

I liked the P&P one the best, but was mildly confused to hear the Love Actually soundtrack. The KK/MM film had a beautiful soundtrack all of its own. I wondered if it was a rights issue, but then the Brokeback trailer had the right (and lovely) music.

  25. Nadia says:

Heat(h) is “Sinbad:  Legend of the Seven Seas”

You know, I never aspired to be an expert on children’s animated movies, LOL.

  26. votermom says:

    LOLOLOLOLOL.
    Thank you!
Orangehands, the Capt Hook one is just. wrong.

  27. ashley says:

disney sexies? look up david kawena’s art on deviant art. he did the above linked john smith.  muy good

  28. We, with conferencing services says, that it is when he realized that everything he saw was a delusion or a figment or his imagination. It also symbolizes that his world has ended in some sad way. It shows that in his other video ’ moving mountains ’ was a continuation of ’ love in the club.

  29. Pride and Prejudice is the best of her novels because its romance involves two people who were born to be in love, and care not about business, pleasure, or each other.
