Friday Videos Love Men on Horses, Old Spice, and John Denver

What could be better than the snort-worthy ‘I’m a man on a horse” Old Spice commercial?

A parody, set to John Denver’s “You Fill Up My Senses.”

It’s like if Weird Al parodies your song, you know you’ve made it? If a viral video mocking your commercial goes up, you are rollin’ in dough and Old Spice.

I love the new old spice ads.

But the 2nd one was just too much torture this early in the morning.

  2. ocelott says:

I wish Old Spice had paid out to have that commercial play during the Superbowl.  Beats the rest of the crap they played.  “I’m on a horse” has become a popularsaying around my house.

  3. Erica says:

This is my favorite commercial right now.  Even if I DVR something I will stop fast forwarding through commercials just to see it.

  4. Vicki says:

The Old Spice set to John Denver was wonderful and yet another reminder of why I should not be eating potato salad for breakfast over my keyboard.

  5. I have great love for Old Spice ‘cause that’s what we used to give my father on Father’s Day.  He’s gone now, but every time I smell that classic fragrance it brings back good memories.

And I cackle every time I hear the line in the commercial “two tickets to that thing you love”.

  6. The perpetual fiance commented that the Man On Horse is sitting on such a small saddle that he’s going to become Soprano On Horse if his ewe-necked steed so much as twitches.

The PF knows this firsthand. And may never forgive me for laughing my ass off when it happened (snerk).

  7. Wendy says:

My husband loves to do the “look at your man, now back at me” bit.  He turns on that voice like he MEANS it.  Seriously, Old Spice should hire him.  (Cept, he’s kinda thin and wiry. Shhh…don’t tell him.)

  8. joykenn says:

Last Friday when you posted the dynamite ad from Europe someone gave a link to the Old Spice ad.  I couldn’t decide which I laughed at the most.  Evidently that whole thing is one continuous take….including getting on the horse.  Must say that is one FINE looking man and that voice…sigh.  Even my husband remembers that ad from the Super Bowl.  That has GOT to win some kind of advertising award.

  9. Chicklet says:

People! If you love the Old Spice ad, you must go watch Isaiah Mustafa’s interview on Ellen. He is utterly charming. THE TICKETS ARE NOW DIAMONDS.

  10. Kristin says:

OMG, that is so wrong and yet so wonderful.

  11. quichepup says:

She does have a lovely voice and I laughed at the end when her friend says “I messed up it a few times.”  Also like the excuse to watch that commercial again.

  12. Star Opal says:

So far my favorite parody is ItsJustSomeRandomGuy’s C2E2 commercial:
Deadpool is The Man Your Man Should Never Be Like… EVER (

    )

  13. Star Opal says:

Stupid not able to edit and being half asleep thing….

The Man Your Man Sould Never Be Like… EVER

    Let’s try that.

  14. Ros says:

That Old Spice advert defines AWESOME.  He’s on a horse, after all.

  15. Elise Logan says:

fabulous. lol. And the link from Chicklet is great.

    Thanks!

  16. Kaelie says:

*shakes fist at Star Opal* you beat me to it.

the ItsJustSomeRandomGuy vid get’s a second rec from me. . .Deadpool is far too funny.

catchword: Similar92. the videos are -92% similar.

  17. JamiSings says:

Eh, I wish they’d bring back Bruce Campbell. He did better Old Spice ads.

  18. JaniceG says:

It’s a bit long but I was fascinated by the “making of” video for the Old Spice commercial that’s a long interview with the ad guys who came up with the concept and confirmed it was one take in one location!

  19. Liz says:

i absolutely hate those commercials! that guys is too arrogant, and it makes me want to boycott Old Spice b/c the man i love should not be like him at all or he wouldn’t be the man i love for very long.

    the parody was great, though.

  20. GoShawdy says:

For some reason I always felt that Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts would fit Old Spice better. 🙂

  21. Jeffrey Stucker says:

The singing woman made me want to ice pick my eardrums… it was amusing, but torture to my ears…
