Sarah’s Inbox is a Magical, Hoffstical Place

More joy from my inbox. It is a very crowded place, my inbox, but I swear, thanks to you it is the best inbox in all the land.

First, from Missy: proof that reading romance can make you an outstanding parental role model.

A friend of mine watched The Middle the other night. He said that an 8 year old kid was reading a romance novel to his friend. He said a line something like:

“‘And as the count entered the room, her bosom heaved.’ That means she threw up!”

Oh, crap is THAT what’s happening in all those old sex scenes?! EW!

Completely unrelated but still proof that my inbox is the most awesome inbox: Melissa’s travel photos. Normally, someone wants to show you their travel photos, and about ten minutes later your brain atrophies into a puddle of boredom goo.

But not Melissa. She’s in Zurich. In the supermarket. And she takes pictures… of a car meant for little kids to ride/become shaken in:

Wait a minute, that looks like KITT. Which means… could there be HOFF nearby?!

Why yes! There IS Hoff nearby!

Imagine, the Hoffsters appeal stretches all the way to Zurich grocery stores.

May your weekend be world wide awesome.

*points at location* I am now trying to figure out where that KITT is. 🙂

(Btw, if it’s not too weird an offer from a complete stranger – if Melissa needs any tips/info about Zurich and/or Switzerland, feel free to point her my way…)

But is there William Daniels (or at least his voice) nearby?

The Middle had a fabulous preview ad with footage that I’ll bet was from that episode.  The kid’s mom sends him to “go read something” and he comes back with a romance novel, asking “Mom, which part of me is my ‘throbbing manhood’?” Freakin’ hilarious.

I’m not surprised that Melissa found Ktt and the Hoffstra in Zurich … the Europeans (especially Germans) love David, his show, and his singing.  He is almost as famous as Jerry Lewis in France (ironic that the Frogs decry American culture … then again Paris is fabulous).  Regarding travel photos, I enjoy them, especially if an author just returned from a “research trip” to England, Scotland, and Ireland.  Photos can only whet readers appetites of the incomparable beauty of these popular locales in romance novels.  Zurich is also fabulous but Interlaken in incomparable!

I love to take pictures when I’m out and about. I’ve had a habit of twitpicing them lately and I’d definitely have taken a snapshot of that car in the grocery, too.

As per my 14 year old son, that sounds just like something he’d say – and has said. 🙂

Love the throwing up! I remember reading my husband a passage from a Georgette Heyer, because she uses the world “ejaculate” a lot, as in a sudden outcry or shout. The sentence that was so notable was something like “‘Egad!’ he ejaculated cheesily.”

    Ewwwwwwwwwww

  7. Resources like the one you mentioned here will be very useful to me! I will post a link to this page on my blog. I am sure my visitors will find that very useful..
