From the RWA Hot Sheet regarding the most recent RWA Board Meeting:
RWA will administer a memorial fund in honor of Kate Duffy with money donated by individuals who choose to contribute. Funds will be used to benefit authors actively engaged in the field of romance writing, with disbursements approved by a committee of donors.
There is already a Perseverance Fund (login required, members only for that link) to pay dues for members facing hardship. This fund sounds different in nature, and I’m looking forward to hearing more details as the parameters of the fund are established. As a first step, I think that sounds pretty spiffy.
