This is definitely prose of the eye-blindingly, radioactive purple-edging-into-ultraviolet variety. I think it might be over-the-top even for the Purple Prose Parody Contest at http://www.likesbooks.com/ppppageindex.html

Although since this was actually _published_ it would probably automatically have been disqualified.
Indian Point Power Plant would fit into this very well. Especially when you see it from across the water. Reminds me of the first picture, however, IP has nipples too. Wish I could find a picture of it.
I actually thought some of the prose was good, in an old-fashioned, somewhat florid way, with unexpected verbal twists and fresh imagery.
The problem was that there was too much of it.
I could see how the writer, in love with the flow of his pen, could be carried along on that torrent of words.
Pity that it became an object of ridicule by the too muchness.
Talk about time-wasting goodness! The Twilight spoof was hilarious! I love Kevin Pereira and Olivia Munn and miss them lots since my cable company got into a dispute with G4 and quit carrying it.
The video representation of the purple prose was fun, but through the comments, which led to other awesome things, including more links to click, I stumbled across one of the funniest book reviews ever (especially when combined with the comments).

All I need is more time-wasters today. I’m trying to edit (have 3 on my plate and hoped to get 2 done quickly) and keep getting distracted by kids, blogs, Twitter, Harry Potter on TV… Somehow, I don’t think I’m getting much editing done, anyway. I’ll save this to check out later. Thanks.
For some reason the Twilight spoof link didn’t work for me. I had to search for “Twilight spoof” on that website… but when I found it, it was hilarious!
When I clicked on the Twilight link on the main page, I got the Faxathon. When I viewed the comments then clicked on the link, I got the Twilight spoof. Strange…

I think the author of the “prose” was definitely getting paid by the word and made sure he utilized every adjective and noun in the dictionary. Sweet cheese? Fresh-baked loaves? Ferret tongue? I think I have an idea of what he was trying to say but he sure as heck didn’t know how to say it! I couldn’t read further than those first 2 pages though, (or watch any of the videos!) dial-up makes things so tough sometimes!
The only link I clicked was accidental dong. What a way to start the day! Now I know I’ll be on the lookout everywhere I go…
