Kensington to Plan Event in Kate Duffy’s Memory, Details to Come

From Kensington’s official press release regarding Kate Duffy’s death last weekend:

To honor her memory, Kensington is planning an annual publishing event that will include many of the romance authors Kate Duffy worked with through the years, as well as provide the opportunity to develop new talent such as those who were such a rich part of her legacy. Kensington will be partnering with a charitable organization, and additional details will be announced as soon as they are available.

I have hopes that this event will rock the casbah, the surrounding tri-state area, and many additional planets. As soon as I hear more, I’ll spread the word here.

More than anything else this week, so many people I’ve emailed with have said the same thing: we’re going to miss Kate like holy damn hell. Whatever the event is, I hope it rocks, and rocks hard.

Holy italics, Batman! Need a close italics somewhere!

And this sounds like a fabulous idea.

  2. EC Sheedy says:

    Three cheers for Kensington!

This is a great idea—anything that honors, Kate Duffy is! So happy to hear this and will be looking for the details to come.

  3. MelB says:

I hope it rocks to the Andromeda galaxy. Kate was a titan and there is a gaping hole now that she’s gone, but her legacy will live on and on. I’ll be keeping an eye out here for more news and spread the word for others to check here as well.

  4. Kate Duffy was my editor for 8 novels, and 4 novellas.  She was the backbone of Kensington.  And one of my “Skye’s Legacy” series books was the first book published for the Brava line.  Don’t ask which one.  I forget. And Kate was responsible for that series name.  “Skye’s Legacy”.  I thought it was brilliant, but then Kate was one smart cookie. I’ll miss her wry wit.

I look forward to whatever Kensington has planned.
