It’s not enough to torture me with your sexy maple syrup and your really beautiful mountains and your balls-ass cold frozen north and your sexy functional national health care plan, is it? Oh, no Harlequin up ‘ere in Canada, you have to taunt me with your Halloween party, too!
For those of you not on Twitter yesterday, Harelquin Digital Team announced that Jayne & Sulemaan from the Digital team won their Halloween costume contest as The Playboy Sheikh and the Virgin Stable-Girl.
No, really. Here’s a picture. HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!?? I believe, though it can’t be seen in the picture, that a “little lizard” was part of the costume.
I loved this costume so much, I had to go read the review again. Happy Halloween to you, your Playboy Sheikhs, and your Virgin Stable Girls!
“Ah yeah baby, you know what time it is, you know when I’m down to my socks it’s time for business, that’s why they call them business socks”

Sorry, the link didn’t post for the above post, here it is
I might have added some conveniently placed cherries to the ensemble…
what a fun idea!
If I could do a costume that awesome I’d actually dress up for Halloween.
Don’t forget that Canadians also have Mounties. And Nico Archambault. Both are maple-licious.
And our hockey players. Normally, I pay no attention to hockey as sports bore me silly. However, it’s Hallowe’en, it’s been slightly below freezing and snowing all day long. It’s messy, sloppy, and disgusting out. The sun went down about 2 hours ago, and it’s just chilly and windy enough to not want to be outside.
I just drove home from the grocery store, and at every intersection on one of the main drags that’s also residential was a member of our local Junior A hockey team (19-yo-ish), with a reflective vest and a stop sign, to help keep the (very few) little trick-or-treaters safe when crossing the road.
I’m all choked up.
Oh I NEED to see a photo that includes the lizard!
The little lizard was stuck in the book—you can see it poking out in the picture if you look closely. 🙂

Ha! That’s the best idea ever. I love the little lizard, too!
Halloween is a SERIOUS event up here at Harlequin, and we had some stiff competition, let me tell you! We were up against some unscrupulous (very) folk who encorporated their BABIES into their costumes in a vain attempt to sway the judges, but I think that lizard put us over the top.

Oh, Sarah – vanity, vanity! Re-reading your own reviews…..whatever next?!
Actually, I feel HUGELY honoured that the Playboy Sheikh has become such a cult figure as well as a best seller.
And I know that Sulemaan loves dressing up – here you can see his splendid charity fund-raiser, wearing women’s shoes. http://harlequinblog.com/
But somehow I suspect that it was much more fun being Prince Kaliq for an evening. Don’t you?
Best,
Sharon
Sulemaan wearing high heels? Now that is excellent
Sulemaan is a real hero.
Love that video for the White Ribbon Campaign! Very cool. Well done Gentlemen. =)
Sharon – I enjoyed wearing the heels (can’t believe I just typed that) a little more than being Prince Kaliq only because the funds we raised went to a great cause.
Sarah – You flatter me but I’m no hero as it was a team effort and many others contributed without fanfare.
(BTW – Love your blog.)
