  1. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. Great post and thanks for the info – I love finds like this.  🙂

Suvudu is confusing me—i only see four titles, including only one of the ones you mentioned, and no “next page” button. where do you find the rest of the books that are free?

  4. DS says:

I had very good luck with a previous book I bought for $1 from Orbit—Marie Brennan’s Midnight Never Come.  Queen Elizabeth I and Fae, but (thankfully) no Shakespeare.  Not that I dislike Shakespeare, but Shakespeare and fairies has been a bit overworked.

However, I think I’m going to pass on the Lilith Saintcrow title.  I wasn’t really impressed by the last two Dante Valentine books and I haven’t seen or read anything that makes me think I would like this new series better.

  5. Wendy Palmer says:

I hesitate to do this, but in light of the very interesting and yet mysteriously dispiriting discussion and comments about marketing and the need for brave self-promotion in the Delilah Marvelle post, I will raise my hand and mention that for the next 10 days, my new DRM-free ebook is available directly from the publisher’s website for only $1. It’s about fairytales and has a romantic subplot. Visit my website [click on my name] for more details, an excerpt, and the $1 link.

Due to some kind of geographical restriction, I got all the way through the interminable registration process for the $1 Lilith SaintCrow thing before it told me that, sadly, I was in the wrong geographical area to be eligible to get a $1 Orbit.

    Sadface.

Not blaming them, but a wee headsup before I bothered to register would’ve been good.  Perhaps it was in small print somewhere.  So now the ebook company dudes have all my credit card details (which always worries me a teensy bit) and I don’t gots nuffink out of that. Kiwis, Aussies, don’t bother…

  7. LaurieF says:

@DS Give Night Shift a chance. I found I was glad the Dante series was only a five book arc and the last two were not as satisfying for me as the first three. But the Jill Kismet series is my favorite writing from Saintcrow and I’ve just finished the third book in the series and can’t wait for the next.

  8. Shay says:

Oooooh, free crack… I mean books.

I am so loving this site – thanks mucho for the addys!

  9. I love the opportunity to try a new author.
