Harlequin and Flower Pot Press Join Forces for Papergood Awesomeness

paper Goods!Hot from Ye Olde Inbox: Harlequin LTD has paired up with Flower Pot Press to offer paper goods featuring the Harlequin vintage art collection – hooray!

Let there be MUCH Thank-you note writing! And shopping list writing! And general paper goods acquisition because OMG YAY!

From the press release:

Flower Pot Press will release a line of tantalizing paper products, including journals, notepads, and address books that capture the allure of Harlequin’s early novels.  Cover art from Harlequin’s sixty years of satisfying readers with daring adventures, psychological intrigue, and steamy romance will continue to fire the imaginations of women who may use these products to capture their secrets or even their to-do lists.

The release of the seductive notables coincides with the celebration of Harlequin’s 60th anniversary.  This particular line will display some of Harlequin’s most memorable cover art from the 1940s and 50s.  Products in the Harlequin Notables line range in price from $8 to $15.

There is no question my grocery list would be 800% more awesome with Harlequin vintage cover art. I’ve seen the large notebook in use at RWA, and the cover is a hard one, making it awesome for notes and writing when you don’t have a desk at hand. I cannot wait to see these in stores.

  7. Oops. Right comment, wrong blog. Should go below.

I was lucky to get a box of those postcards (tin box, bottom right) at the Harlequin Party in DC last month. They’re fantastic!

  8. Lenore says:

I have been enjoying a calendar with the Harlequin vintage art. Even my DH loves those HQ gals!  On the 30/31st we get together and turn to the new month. They are awesome!

  9. Camilla says:

I think an ad on this blog would be a good investment!! Esp if you can click and buy online. I live in a small town, so mail order is the only way to get these I am sure.
While waiting I have found some great stuff at etsy.com made from old romances.

  10. Sabrina says:

I’m all over a coffee mug like a puppy on a chew toy!

Can’t wait to hear when that might happen.

  11. Elizabeth Wadsworth says:

I love, love, love those trashy covers from the Forties and Fifties (and really hope that if I ever get published, my Forties-era mystery novel will get a cover just like that.)

Any word on a release date or where this stuff is going to be sold?  Will it be available at B&N or Borders or any of the big chain bookstores?  I too wanna stock up for Xmas!

  12. Debra Hyde says:

Yes!  I’ve been waiting for this!  FLower PotPres is going on my watch list immediately.

  13. Diana says:

Links, I want links.  I have friends with birthdays coming up!

  15. I WANT. Christmas gifts all around!! My fam would die for these! At the HQ party they gave away the tins filled with postcard art and it was the bomb. I gave a bunch away to my office mates and a few to random strangers at National. It was sweet!

  16. Stelly says:

I know what I’m going to ask for for my birthday.

  17. Kate says:

I am excited about these, but I second the people who are wondering about totes and mugs. I am desperate for a cute vintage Harlequin tote bag!!

  18. Eliza Evans says:

Oh, good lord. I am so excited about this.  I know what I’m giving myself for my birthday this year!

  19. Ashley Ladd says:

    Love it!

I’ve always loved the Coca Cola memorabilia and this is beautiful, too. I’ll definitely be investing in some of this.

  20. library addict says:

    Coolness.

  21. Mos Stef says:

I saw this in the RT Book Reviews magazine and I’m saving up to buy them all. I got the calender with the vintage artwork free from Harlequin and I adore it, plus in my new place I’m going for a vintage pulp/noir theme so this will all fit in perfectly. 🙂

  22. Courtney says:

OMG! This is too cool! I know what I”ll be asking Santa for this year:-)

  23. Babs says:

SQUEEE! This is soooo cool. Want in a big way…hope online purchasing is an option otherwise I’ll be out of luck (currently living in Europe.)

  24. Jessica G. says:

I’m so on this like butter on toast. Feel bad for all of those I correspond with 😀

  25. theladyferris says:

I actually have that copy of Barbary Moon!

  26. Jay Coyle says:

    Hello SMTB,

This is Jay from Flowerpot Press and I thank you for all of your kind comments and positive feedback on our new Harlequin Notables line. We are working hard to get major retailers on board so you can buy these…but it is taking longer than we had hoped to get the buyers interested.

I promise to swing back around and alert you all when we do find a retailer for us to point you to. I want you all to have these products in your hands to see for yourselves how great they are!

    Stay Smart,
    Jay C.

  27. Camilla says:

So, Jay do you want us to start calling “major retailers” and asking if they have them in yet?????
